Cause Cinder is a fucking villain and terrorist, stole and became full Maiden, killed their headmaster. She possessed a lot of high steak threats here yet these two wanted to challenge her? Pyrrha went by herself and Jaune never called for actual help instead called Ruby for "reasons" . Jaune is fucking moron, he could've informed Ironwood,Qrow and Glynda, people who have experience dealing with Maidens not naive kids.

I’m still baffled with how Cinder just…completely ignores Ruby in this finale. After orchestrating this entire fight to kill Ruby, fuelled by her desire for vengeance against the girl who took out her eye and arm, she just…ignores her. A single fireball fired blindly through a portal and thats it. Like…what? Wtf was the last two volumes even about then for Cinder?! Like-what?! How did this happen? How did they manage to f**k this up? It was literally the main driving force of the bad guys that created the main tension for this fight, and-like-what?!

You got the problem with Jaune down pat. He's not a bad character; he has a good arc (pun intended) and he's compelling, including with how he interacts with Ruby. The problem is that he takes up so much space that other characters ought to be allowed to use. Why do Ren and Nora not react to Pyrrha at ALL? It's like you said when you talked about the animatic and Ren talked about "how everything YOU lost" to Jaune, when Ren lost Pyrrha too. But, then again, Nora and Pyrrha never really did anything with Pyrrha. The only time Nora ever really said anything of consequence to Pyrrha was when she told her to stop hiding her feelings for Jaune.

I honestly think it would've been cool seeing Jaune trying to "avenge" Pyrrha by attacking Cinder whilst Cinder pays him no attention and goes after Ruby instead. I can imagine Cinder seeing Jaune as so unimportant that she doesn't even entertain his anger towards her. We could also have the team having a plan, but Jaune screws it up by getting pissy and going after Cinder instead of fulfilling his part of the plan, meaning it's his fault when Weiss is impaled. I think it would help with his whole arc of learning to be a good leader as he learns to put his emotions and personal grudges aside for the betterment of his team. These are just a couple of idea though. I'm no professional writer so these could be garbo for all I know.

In the video game Xenoverse, I remember Hercule trying to rejoin the battle while our character and Cell fight, even after getting knocked aside, but he's really easy to ignore since he can't really do much. I imagine it would've been pretty interesting to see a battle like that, where Ruby and Cinder are fighting, and Jaune is trying to help, but keeps getting knocked aside, only for him to get back up and try again. Cinder wouldn't be forgetting her grudge, Ruby would actually get to contribute, and I imagine some would even respect Jaune a little bit for how he keeps getting back up no matter how many times Cinder knocks him down.

I still think part of the reason Jaune gets so much focus this series is because the writers just feels more comfortable writing for him than the leads. Why? He's a straight, dorky white kid with a standard arc that's not challenging to write. Jaune is basically a crutch character for them to write for. The problem: it comes at the cost of other characters or other characters propping him up for no reason. This episode was the pinnacle of them bending over RWBY to write about Jaune. I know, I know, there's the self-insert reason, but thats the obvious one.

Ah, yes, the final character assassination of Weiss Schnee is upon us. She gets reduced from a competent fighter to a complete buffoon who jobs out to a barely-named nobody all so that Jaune can have his emotional moment. And the best part: nothing at all gets done with this. Like, it would have been interesting if this went somewhere. The core issue with Weiss's fight here is that she's forgotten her combat fundamentals and is overly relying on her big, flashy summon. That's a legitimate thing that I feel could happen, especially to someone who's out of practice and recently gotten a power upgrade. Her arc in volume 6 could have been about her realizing her error and training to be a better fighter. To re-emphasis her fundamentals and cut out the summoning so much. Or hell, how about addressing the trauma of *nearly dying!* Nope. As far as Weiss's character is concerned, this event may as well not have happened. Hell, I don't think *anybody* in the show has ever mentioned the time Weiss nearly died since volume 5. Like, Ruby in volume 6 is trying to learn to use her superpowers, but she's struggling. Maybe that should be tied into that time she nearly saw her friend die, and this acts as a mental block to her accessing her powers. That could have been interesting. But no, can't have that.

But if they killed Jaune, then they would have to play with Team RWBY which they really didn't want to do
@techni176617 күн бұрын
God, I have such a Love-Hate Relationship with Jaune, his character embodies both the worst and best of RWBY no matter the season. Jaune is a character who, by all intents and purposes borders a lot of my favourite archetypes and plotlines but never actually commits to any. Due to how Monty created team RWBY as he does every single one of his characters as super strong individuals with amorphous abilities that let him do whatever he wants in a fight, power wise and character wise, basically only Ruby and Weiss NEED to go to cool hunter academy, since they start the series already so absurdly powerful the only benefits they gain are the socialisation of the team system. (I have so many thoughts about the team system.) Jaune however is positioned as someone somewhat competent but otherwise pathetic, a classic weak to strong arc. But then despite the screen time, Jaune does nothing. He has no otherwise mundane skills, that you would expect for a character like this (The clearest example being somewhat Ironically, Joey Wheelers combat skills compared to his pathetic duelling ability). In a story that made sense, Jaune would have a set of skills unrelated to being a huntsman but still useful in niche situations such as; Having a traditional education, coding skills, being knowledgeable about the world. Jaune Is constantly portrayed as pathetic far beyond the point that's tolerable. Jaune despite everything needed a badass scene around this point in the story. Jaune should have had a scene where he keeps getting beaten down by cinder/emerald/mercury/whoever but keeps getting back up. But he doesnt. He just screams and cries with no resolution apart from awaking his semblance which SHOULD make him one of the most useful and powerful team-members even if his combat ability is so bad. But only after skipping his entire arc by sending him a plot hole amount of time into the past he gets strong and still, he never gets a single solid moment. It's not hard to write a version of Jaune well, in fact it's quite easy by just leaning into the traits that the story tells you are there, but aren't. Jaune more than any-other RWBY character thrives in fan-fiction no matter if he's the protagonist, secondary character or supporting cast member (Even if a lot of the Jaune-centered fics make me roll my eyes.) Also prediction, Jaune definitely going to die or at the very least get a fake out death. Jaune, Just like RWBY proper, is based upon constantly implying that interesting things could be happening and you should expect them. If you try to however, you just get slammed in the face over and over again. 7/10 Never flinch. It is 2am so sorry if this was ranty. As someone who really liked Jaune and then had to realise that I never got anything out of liking him, he started to aggravate me more and more. What pisses me off about Jaune's rant is that it steals Cinders motivation and the ONE character trait I kinda like. See to me, the fact that someone as self-serving as Cinder was able to put aside the the fear of her master to go after Ruby was actually pretty telling. To me, it says she puts her immediate wants over her well being. I feel this is not super common in selfish super villains, and I kinda like this character trait. Or I would, if f@cking Jaune didn't steal the scene. It makes Cinder look like a moron who's easily distracted since she literally gambled her life for a chance at petty revenge but like a dog chasing a bone she somehow gets distracted by Jaune. Yeah sure, whatever.

This was by far one of the absolute worst episodes. Why would Cinder even bait Salem with what about the girl if she wasn't going to do anything anyway. We wasted an entire Tyrian mission based fight and him losing a very important part of lore to literally be shafted to the side and gone. Weiss fought so many times without summoning that her main skill is to keep attacking until she can find an opening to summon than use it. She never had it before and it was just being perfected by her so she doesn't even properly know how to use it yet. Emerald was a gigantic pissy cry baby also looking for mommy Cinder to do everything for her. Cinder goes down Emerald whines and cries wahhh my mommy cant save me from big bad Salem anymore. Then Jaune the big cry baby oath. Jaune : YOU KILLED PYRAHHA DAMN YOU TO HELL!!!! JAUNE : CINDER!!!!!! ALL WITH THAT DAMN SMILE ON YOUR FACES!!! Ruby never got any reaction from Cinder the one who blindly tricked her. Dismantled her best friend whom she thought was dead. Killed Prryha right infront of her activating a power that hasn't been seen for almost five decades. Ruby has had the reaction of fighting Tryian though I give her that. Cutting off his tail wounding him for wounding her uncle but that is the only time she reacts any villian besides volume 3. Ruby is by far the main character she is the first character introduced. The first character explained, then for some reason Jaune thrust himself in front row all the way to volume 7 then Ren got tired of his main character energy bullsh*t and said f*ck off so Jaune wallowed in self pity. Yang ohh don't get me started I absolutely hate the and I only say this about her, the dumb bimbo blonde. For Four volumes straight finding her mom was her motivation then she meets the dead beat mother and doesn't even make an effort to ask why she didn't want her, she found her then had amneisa on why she wanted to find her in the first place. Yang needs to be killed off and replaced with Illia because she is a Drama queen cry baby also and doesn't even know why at least Jaune has an excuse to feel pissy as a blonde, she doesn't have a clue and just makes up contrived imaginations to explain why she so angry. In the movie she finally has sister energy that is the only time and from Volume 1 - 3 I enjoyed Yang. Everything else was a mediocore mess but enough of my rant lets se what volume 10 holds instore for us.

I know it's cliché, but Jaune's outburst reminded me of that scene in Avatar: The Last Airbender where Sokka loses his composure after Azula taunts him about Suki. Similarly to Blake and Ghira's moment in volume 4 and many other examples, the writers borrow or are inspired by some scenes from that show but fail to build up to it or make the necessary changes needed for the scene to feel less out of place and poorly done. Why is Jaune the only one upset? Because Sokka was. Nevermind the fact that everyone, espscially Ruby, Ren, and Nora should also be angry at Cinder for Pyrrha's death. Why did Cinder continue to taunt and play around with Jaune despite the fact that she has a goal and a grudge against Ruby? Because that's what Azula did. They forgot that Azula didn't have a purpose that episode, she was just stalling for time. Situations like this make it clear that the writers weren't sure how to go about a moment they wanted and lazily copied from other shows or they weren't confident in their own writing. Lol, I thought I was only one that found volume 5's finale so bad it was funny.
@GeneralBolas16 күн бұрын
The writers have this problem where they can only ever focus on one thing at a time. Exactly and only one thing. This is the scene about Jaune and Cinder. So nothing else matters. The fact that Cinder's primary motivation is about Ruby is irrelevant because that's not what the scene is about. We need someone to nearly die so that people know there are real stakes and for Jaune to get his superpowers. Well, Ruby's the main character, Blake isn't here, and we need Yang for a scene with her mother. So it's Weiss. But that doesn't do anything for Weiss's character. Why? Because that's not why the scene is there. The scene is there so the audience knows that it's serious and for Jaune to get a power-up. That's what it's for, so it can't do anything else. We see this come back in volume 7 and 8. The reason Ironwood turned into a cartoon supervillian in V8 is because the writers *thought* they did that in V7, but the literal words on the page didn't really work that way. So instead of using what they'd written to go in an interesting direction... they just pretended that they wrote him the way they always intended and moved on. Scenes do exactly and only what the writers want. And if they do more or differently, they don't care; they keep going as if it did what they wanted.

All characters deserved way more than what they got, including Jaune. He could have been an excellent supporting character, and if the writers actually understood how Sokka from The Last Airbender was written (since he's the main inspiration for Jaune); we could have seen a great leader, friend, warrior and even lover on screen. A character we could all respect and admire, as a genuine hero, rather than a failed comedian who only knows how to embarras himself, making people laught at him, and not with him... And eventually that becomes tiresome and annoying Sometimes, it feels like they prefered to humiliate Jaune, to the point of bullying, rather than actually giving him an arc, and treat him with respect and seriousness. Even if he had more episodes for himself than any of the members of team RWBY, the protagonists, he was still given the short end of the stick with the script. Characters like Sokka, Naruto in his own story, Luffy from One Piece or Kamina and Simon from Gurren Lagann; what all of them have in common is that, even if they become the object of jokes and funny moments, the people writting their respective stories still treat them with respect. These characters know when is time to relax, chill, and even crack some jokes at themselves... but they do it from a place of self-confidence and self-respect. And when troubles arise, and things get serious, they do what's necessary to save the day and their friends; and being good examples of reliable, competent and caring leaders. That's what makes them cool and aspiring to be Jaune, at least the character we got, isn't anything like that. He has some moments when he truly show he could have been more: the fight with the Deathstalker, when he was written as a different character, more serious and assertive, but still respectful towards his future teammates. Getting in sync with them right away. Him protecting someone else in danger, even it he had the option not do so (the Ursa fight). His humility to finally accept Pyrrha's help. Him leading team JNPR to assist team RWBY with the Grimm attack in the city. The emotional support he gave to Pyrrha during the whole Maiden introduction What we wanted was a hero to be inspired by, and to be an example of what a good leader should be; including ofc a good sense of humor, that's another trait that makes someone more approachable. Jaune deserved to be a good leader, not a terrible classroom clown with zero self-respect

I remember being so excited when the matchups started but then I couldn't imagine all those fights taking place in one hall. Qrow vs Winter would have been the edgiest fight and one I really wanted to see, the rematch against Yang and Mercury but alas nothing meaningful. There's something funny about Oscar always developing off screen both fighting and character development. I liked Jaune's wailing the first time I heard it, didn't know Miles had it in him, although he keeps stealing the spotlight from Ruby and being the only one with a proper reaction about Pyrrha. I remember thinking after he whiffed that stab I thought he was stunned by the energy of Ruby's silver eyes, now... he needs to work on his stamina. Weiss really pissed me off, ONLY trying to summon in a 1v1 fight in such a closed space is genuinely an insane tactic to give a character who is great at fighting in tight spaces and is speedy strikes are her main fighting style. I do think that this is when volume 5 looked its worse, the warm lighting from the haven house and menagerie is gone for everything being flat and bland, granted the vault tries to liven things up. I never liked Cinder's voice acting but I did like her response to Jaune, it felt a little generic but I like how it's something that she would say, she likes to get under people's skin. I think the problem with Jaune at this point is that he has the blueprint for the perfect protagonist; standard underdog, he has the most archaic weapons and armour in a world where the norm is scifi and fashionable outfits, his love for Pyrrha coupled with his family being a line of heroes he has to live up to would make his journey be very personal. I still want Ruby as the MC but with how much Jaune gets involved in all the big moments each volume since volume 1, you start to wonder about their priorities when writing the show.

You know I don't think the writers ever remember that more then one character has to react to a situation. (Thinking of Yang in... I do not know, the revelation about Summer Rose, that bit where Yang doesn't react because... fucking Potatos I dunno.) Which is odd, I have never gotten this, in RVB the cast reacted to things, are girls really that much harder to write?

I can excuse some conversations in the middle of a fight. This is anime, after all. It can work better to have a line or two to exentuate a point. V5 really breaks my disbelief. The problem with Jaune compared to Oscar is that Jaune for some reason doesn't ALLOW other characters to develop alongside him. Even though Oscar gets development in the background, Ozpin, Emerald, Ironwood, even Ruby get focus. It happens here, the Pyrrha statue, killing Penny with no reaction from Weiss....

Ah the beginning of the finale of volume 5. As I've said before this fight was the only thing I remembered about the volume as I found everything else to be so forgettable that I blurred this finale in my mind and thinking it was apart of volume 6. For awhile I never understood why because after all a lot of important stuff happened here but then I finally realized why volume 5 is so forgettable... It's because all of the important stuff that happened never really matter in the long run. Adam, being defeated and running away? He dies in the next volume so it isn't like he ended up doing anything interesting later on. Raven being the spring maiden? She just disappears after this and never comes back outside of a single flashback. Cinder, falling to her death? She comes back almost as soon as the next volume starts. The fight itself is the only thing worth mentioning in the volume and it's solely because of how bad it is. Everything else surrounding it just never mattered at the end of the day other than I guess, Oscar.

Jaune’s continued presence at the school after his non-existent landing strategy makes Ozpin and Glinda, like, attempted murderers. I wish there was a scene where Pyrrha realizes this and threatens to leave because of it, but Pyrrah and Ozpin strike a deal such that Pyrrah will stay, protecting, supporting, and training Jaune, allowing him to be leader so she can stay out of the spotlight, but in exchange she has to become the Maiden. It starts off with Pyrrha feeling indignation at Ozpin for Jaune’s treatment, then with the opportunity to not be the celebrity icon for a while, she grows closer to him just because it’s useful, the a lil crush forms between them, until the volume 3 finale hits and NOW it seems like it makes sense that Jaune is the most affected by her death. Pyrrha’s death should be this big turning point for the series, but the only character who really seems to care is Jaune because he developed a last second crush on her. She’s known throughout the kingdom and we don’t even get to see her funeral? She’s literally already been cremated, just put her ashes in an urn! (Okay that was bad I’m sorry)

When I watched this "fight" for the fist time I thought Raven would sent everybody to differents Academy's locations. So, our heroes would have to try to reach the hallway (where is the Relic) while they face some VS against the Salem's group. In this scenario, we could have moments to develop our protagonist and our villains through the collision of their perspectives and, finally, see Mistral and the Academy insted of a living room. I consider I had such high hopes.
@Skullgril01916 күн бұрын
yeah, this episode made me and my brother laugh so much, not because of the actual comedy, but because we were poking fun at it. -An example was Lionheart’s dumb shield weapon and how it fires its projectiles. We kept makin jokes over how he’d just start trying to rapid fire at everyone, and then try to take himself out but he dodges his own bullet. The imagery alone kept us laughing til our stomachs hurt. Honestly, making fun of the combat and dialogue was the only way we could actually pay attention to the episode. Besides that, I’m glad Cinder’s va got better after this, too, because i cannot take anymore of Cinder snarking. Honestly, Jaune getting to have the Big Cry Moment sucks. I’m also in the same boat, he’s a competently written character, but the fact that he’s the ONLY competently written character AND he’s voiced by one of the writers makes me hardcore side eye the writers themselves. Nah, at this point, I’m straight up JUDGING them, especially Miles. What do you mean the blond spotlight stealer gets to wail about a girl he barely started to like, but Ruby, who saw Pyrrha’s death, Ren and Nora, also Pyrrha’s teammates, hell even Yang and Weiss, don’t get to even have the slightest reaction to Cinder and her bullshit???? Hell, they don’t even react to Emerald! The girl who was the catalyst for the Grimm attack on Beacon, who was directly responsible for Penny’s first death and then indirectly caused Pyrrha’s death!! It would’ve made things more tense and high energy if they were all having a reaction, ‘cause now you don’t only got one emotional teenager with a deadly weapon, you got a whole group of them! Ren and Weiss would both probs be the only ones to keep their cool, along with Oscar and Qrow, but the others, nah I can see them going batshit and all gun it for Cinder, forcing Cinder’s teammates to scramble to try and interfere. And, as much as it was an interesting plot point for Weiss to get skewered… It should’ve been Ruby. And if they had to keep the dumb Javelin that Cinder barely puts any force into throwing, it should’ve gone through the chest to truly parallel Pyrrha and up the stakes. As much as i hate the thought of Ruby gettin hurt, the girl barely gets to do anythin, so having her be the one that’s mortally wounded would snap everyone out of their emotional state and refocus (and also maybe Qrow gets to go apeshit now.) What has more character development than nearly dying??? (That’s if CRWBY actually capitalized off of it). It’d also make more sense, since Cinder herself has wanted to kill Ruby for the past episodes. Why did Cinder not take the opportunity when Ruby was literally knocked out on the ground in show?? Even if Salem ordered Ruby to be brought back alive, Cinder already has a track record of doing whatever the hell she wants, so of course she isn’t going to leave Ruby alive. Also, also, It would’ve been more interesting, to me at least, to see Hazel’s fighting style before he goes all Hulked out. Because all we see him do is block Ren’s attacks and toss Nora away. Is his fight style just standing there and letting them come to him? I guess that makes sense, because in base form he isn’t fast enough to keep up, so it’d just be easier to wait until they attack first. I think his fight style would be more pacifistic, at least in base form, like he’d be more focused on blocking, dodging, or even disarming his opponents. Or he’d even wait until they tire themselves out, before hitting them hard enough to break their aura altogether, then knocking them out. (Or killing them.) (It’d be like a direct opposite to Tyrian’s fight style, since Tyrian is faster and just keeps charging over and over again. And his semblance, as much as I do dislike it, does allow him to take down his opponents much quicker. But he just likes the brutality of fighting so he beats them until their aura breaks on their own.)

4:03 This episode helps reinforce why I hate Jaune. I more than hate Jaune, I loath him! When this episode first started I was actually excited. “Finally after all the long, dragged out, buildup. We finally get to see the rematch between Ruby and Cinder. Finally we get to see Cinder get her chance at revenge.” …….. BUT NOPE!!! Instead that rematch gets completely hijacked by Jaune. And we have to see him stupidly throw himself at cinder. Someone who doesn’t even know him. And indeed our main character has to get demoted to fighting Emerald. Someone who should still give her an interesting fight. She has one of the coolest weapons in the show. But instead they just have them stand there with emerald firing at Ruby with her revolvers of unlimited ammo. YOU HAVE CHAINS AND SICKLES, USE THEM! And everything else is just perfect examples of why Jaune is the worst. He hijacks the big fight to get revenge on someone who doesn’t know him for a woman he never loved. No one else can have a reaction. Not Maine character Ruby, not his own teammates who also knew Pyrrha. Not Yang over seeing her mom joined the bad guys side, or see that Mercury was working for them as well. Nope! Got to be all about Jaune. He’s a literal black hole of a character that steals all the spotlight and screen time! 6:00 Hell he even waists his modifications to his weapons by just giving him a bigger sword that he can’t even hit anything with and does nothing a regular sword would do! He’s the literal worst. #fuckyoujaune

My least favorite episode. Seriously what was the writers smoking to forget that cinder wanted revenge against Ruby. If only one of the main cast spoke it should have been Ruby. This isn't the last time Jaune stole a scene that really should have been Ruby's. The phenomenon you described as lower budgeted smaller episodes to fund the big episodes is called bottle necking. Also it happens in live action shows as well. For example that episode of friends where the whole episode was them waiting for a seat in a Chinese restaurant. That was still better than this whole episode.
@sliverstarX4217 күн бұрын
I consider this the worst Jaune episode after Volume 8's finale. I can't understand the writers' reason for keeping Ruby and Cinder apart while focusing on making Jaune Cinder's archenemy, despite Cinder's stated goal of getting even with Ruby for what happened in Volume 3. Unlike Ruby, Jaune did not see Pyrrha die, so while his grief is understandable, he has no excuse to throw a suicidal temper tantrum. What would have made the fight somewhat better narrative-wise is Cinder targetting Ruby from the outset while trying to ignore Jaune until he becomes such a pest that she decides to kill him. Ruby saves him and critically gets injured. Jaune is seemingly blameless for whatever screw-ups he has in the series, but imagine Yang's anger at her sister getting hurt because of Jaune's death wish. Qrow would be angry too, but he'd be more subtle about it. This is the narrative punishing Jaune for his recklessness. Sure, his Semblance still activates and heals Ruby (because we can't let THE protagonist die), but this should be a wake-up call for Jaune not to take his life for granted. I don't think this made-up scenario is perfect, but it's better than what we got canonically.

Hands down my least favorite episode of the whole show. Literally nothing about it works, and shows that the writers really had no idea what they were doing this whole time. That said, Jaune is probably the best part for me. Yes, he "steals the screentime" "is too dramatic" "it's all about Jaune". But damn he's the only one putting any sort of effort in (at least in the beginning). He's the only one not on autopilot so for my money, he's the best.

@rixarts1417 күн бұрын
I disagree. I really love Jaune's emotional monologue. It's been set up since V4 he wasn't dealing with Pyrrha's death and can't comprehend why all this is happening. What's the point of this conflict and how can anyone be proud of it. Then after his meltdown, I just love how Cinder dismissed him so casually. Cinder doesn't have a good rep this volume but I do love that line. Fits her character and doesn't validate Jaune's whiney behaviour. Do I agree that the rest of RNJR should've emoted when seeing the monster who slew their friend. Of course but for what it was, I do enjoy Jaune's meltdown. What I don't enjoy is once again Silver Eyes is teased but never properly addressed. The location is just bland and empty, at least let the fights break up in different areas around the academy. That would help the animators and layout artists if everying is seperately contained. If I had to rewrite it, the fights would; Ruby and Jaune vs Cinder in the ampitheatre. My idea for the end of V3 is Cinder fighintg Ruby, Jaune and Pyrrha altogether. Then the fight here would parallel the last one because Pyrrha isn't here to die for them (from Cinder's perspective). Instead of Emerald knocking Ruby out, Cinder instead stabs Ruby with the spear instead of Weiss. That's your cliffhanger. Ren and Nora vs Mercury and Emerald in another building. I would have Yang against Mercury but we already had that and I want to shake things up. This fight can show how effective the teamwork is for both duos. Ren can detect Emerald but Mercury keeps getting in the way. Mercury can fight Ren but Nora is too strong for him. Weiss vs Vernal remains kind of the same but in the quad. I like the idea that Weiss began to overrely on her summons and Vernal taking advantage of it. Even dissing her for expecting to fight after being on her ass for nearly a year. Weiss however puts up more of a fight when she stops trying to summon but doesn't actually defeat Vernal. Yang vs Hazel in the quad as well. Nothing more than just an immovable object versus an unstoppable force. A fighter that can't feel pain against someone who needs pain to be powerful. Hazel of course throws Yang around like a ragdoll and clocks in that she isn't fighting to her potential. Qrow vs Raven on top of the ampitheatre's roof. Plays out the same but more emotional dialogue. These are two siblings who are trying to kill each other, it should be more impactful. Oscar vs Lionheart on top of the walkway. Oscar tries to fight Lionheart but gets swatted away until Ozpin steps in. Lionheart trying his best to defend his actions and there is some sadness on Oscar's face because of Ozpin feeling betrayed. Once again in his long life.
@godofhyperdeath511117 күн бұрын
Why are they dumbing down Weiss to create tension? The size of a room shouldn’t be a problem for her because her semblance can make a fighting arena even smaller this should be her advantage. Weiss knows that it takes a long time to summon and obviously Vernal is not going to let her do it. WHY ARE YOU CLOSING YOUR EYES AND TURNING YOUR BACK ON YOUR OPPONENT WEISS!!! Just make Vernal super powerful or has something that counters Weiss.
@GeneralBolas16 күн бұрын
Why? Because someone has to nearly die so that Jaune can get a powerup. Ruby's the main character, Blake isn't here, Yang is needed for a later scene, and nobody cares enough about Ren or Nora. So by process of elimination, it's gotta be Weiss.

It's obvious they really wanted Jaune to be the protagonist. Too bad they wrote a show called RWBY that places four characters who are not Jaune at the forefront. You know what you do when you write a story with a set protagonist and then realise you like another character more but have already released content? You either suck it up and use the protagonist you already have, or you save the foundation of the character you like and use that to create a protagonist for a different story.
