Him as a villain had potential but the pacing was off and there are so many ways they could've gone. I was REALLY hoping for a General Shepherd moment or something. Maybe make the fall emotional as the heroes STILL don't wanna see him as evil, just horribly misguided. MAYBE he has a brief redemption in dying to fight Salem/Cinder at the final hour. He dies ultimately but somehow puts on a good fight that even Salem is astonished by.

I love the stark contrast between how it’s used in volume 2 to volume 8. I was hoping we would get a darker version of the hero leitmotif this volume tho

18:21 technically, in that same scene where this happened just a minute earlier, the Hero leitmotif did appear. Sadly didn't make it into this video but it is on the Soundtrack.

I get that it might have been the plan all along to make him a villain, but they did it so fucking poorly. Did they not actually have a plan and make one up along the way?

​​@@irongeneral7861 they made him a villain by having him succumb to many of the same flaws he presented as early as Vol 2 - an inability to accept his own mistakes and emotional faults, and an insistence that his way is always the right way regardless of the consequences. Vol 4 and later 7 just added PTSD on top of that, easy for Salem to exploit the signs were all there, if you say otherwise you're just in denial. or a bootlicker

@@irongeneral7861 Yes, exactly. The implementation could have been better, which would have made him a significantly better villain. And yes, he should have been more formidable as a villain. The man was able to stop an alpha beowolf with his bare hands. Guy should have been nearly invincible with all the aura he showed in the fights in volume 8.

I think you forgot the one from the beginning of the Ironwood vs Watts fight. It is noted on your doc as V7 E11 - (1:41 - 1:53) but i think the guitar part from 1:54 - 2:01 in the episode is also the leitmotif at 0:00 in this video.

Sadly that one is not on the soundtrack, nor has it been cleanly released anywhere, so it's not included here. Trust me, I wish it was, it's one of my favourites!

@@Changyuraptor I see. If it's not too much work, could you put in the description of these videos which leitmotif instances you don't include in the videos. As another example, you could put in the description of the Arkos video that the leitmotif also plays in Forever Fall. I know that one is obvious but I imagine there's some others that aren't obvious and I don't want to miss any. Also, i think I edited my original comment shortly after you saw it, am I correct about that guitar leitmotif?

That’s awesome, thanks! Do you know of any other cues that have gotten out via such unconventional means? I only know about cues on soundclouds (which are mostly gone now) and one V1 action track that was included in the V2 trailer.
