I have to agree with you about 'This Life is Mine'. It's my favourite too. There are a few songs in later soundtracks that come close, but this is still #1.

50:00 While Bumblebee existed from the beginning, in gained popularity when Yang had her chat with Blake in Vol.2 about not letting her goals control her. As Yang left, she winked and said "I'll save you a dance." Since then there's been evidence that both characters have a strong bond with the other. Yang lost her arm to protect Blake, and Blake saved her from Adam in turn. In V4 and V5 Yang harbors resentment based in abandonment and betrayal while Blake is plagued with regret and self loathing. Once reunited, they are inseparable and the show hints that there's more going on, but even the other characters are unsure about it. At this point, fans feel strung along because they just won't come out and confirm it, as it's pretty obvious to even those who don't ship them that it's probably canon. Hopefully V8 just comes out and says it but with everything going on, we may have to wait until V9.

@@toamszkozak8822 It feels forced because it doesn't feel like it was intentional. They were obviously setting up a Sun & Blake ship from the moment Sun showed up in the show - even going so far as to inject a themed love song into the soundtrack in the same season (as they've done for every other canon ship). The Bumblebee becoming canon thing feels like fan-fic being pushed into canon to appease fans that ship it rather than something Monty had intended. Hell, I ship Bumblebee myself and they're doing a better job than most to create a believable progression towards it - but that still doesn't stop it from feeling like obvious fan-service pandering.

I know people have already brought this up for attention but Grimm Eclipse it's canon. It happens between vol 2 and 3. It's supposed to be another mission like the one in Mountain Glenn. They wouldn't just have one mission and call it quits with practical experience xD. One of the reasons it appears in this volume OST it's because you can hear it in the score of chapter 1. At the very beginning, when the grimm are coming out of the grimm pool :)

Regarding the time skip I think they did it well showing Ruby waking up in fear showing shes having nightmares still shows that shes still dealing with it and then Jaune and his training showing how hes dealing. A lot of the time in RWBY they go with showing not telling and that to me makes a more organic story because it allows it viewers to pick up out of it what they get and allows the person to feel more conected to the characters. To the outfit atleast for Ruby her shirt look a lot more like Pennys now so I think its part of her way of remembering her and you can see some notes of Pyrahs looks in Ren and Nora but just small hints there own way of remembering them.

I don't think it's entirely fair to call Black Sun more canon than Bumblebee. They are both alluded to in various ways and the show's not particularly explicit about either of them.

I think Sun was pretty explicit, but I also think that was the point. Sun was very on the nose of being interested in Blake, while Yang was a lot more subtle in her attraction. The signs were there for both of them but a lot of people missed Yang's because it was very subtle. I think V4 had caused more confusion as well. Sun followed Blake because he was worried for her, but he did it in a bad way imo. In V4 Blake showed no indication of being romantically attracted to Sun, that was all Kali and Ghira getting the wrong idea when their daughter shows up with a boy. I also don't think Sun was trying to be with Blake romantically anymore either, he was worried and trying to be a friend. He just got flustered because of how Blake's parents reacted to his presence and his poor choice of words.

@@jj411001 Yeah, seems like the Blake/Sun stuff was even less than the Weiss/Neptune stuff. Those boys are just big flirts. Like, sure, they technically went to the dance together, but she didn't go for Sun... and her first dance was spoken for.

​@@jj411001 funny enough I've watched the series multiple times and I said the same thing about sun, nothing in their interactions indicated to me as romantic, now I do personally believe before the end of volume 3 he was into Blake, but I think after seeing the fall of beacon and he followed her, he was less flirty and more trying to be there for a friend's, the only thing that made sense to me why there was a change in sun approaching Blake this way was when RT showed a specific angle where sun was looking at Blake holding Yangs remaining arm, it didn't show anyone else in that shot but Blake, yang, and sun. And given they like putting in clues and hints, it was subtle but it was kinda note worthy as well.

Another thing i'm sure people have brought up xD Bumbleby has been a ship, along with Monochrome and White Rose since the very beginning in volume 1. A ship does not indicate canon, just saying they've been shipped since the very beginning. This can be seen in the RT Ladies RWBY podcast back in 2013 (you can see it in YT) where the VAs brought it up. The passion of the shippers were acknowledged in volume 2, when CRWBY decided to give use the ship names as team attacks in chapter 4. So, these ships have been there since the very beginning. Black sun too of course, along with nuts and dolts and pretty much any character in vol 1. There's a stream back when RWBY hadn't even released it's first chapter, with the VAs present along with Kerry, Miles and Monty. And at the first 20 seconds or so when they didn't know if they were live or not, Blake's VA said into the mic if she could said her character "was lesbians" with another one. They quickly shoosh her and the started the stream. This one was also in YT :) it could have been a joke of course. But that and subtext interactions is what brought people into the idea that a ship was viable. And further down the road it seems like it might go there. I like Bumbleby but i also loved the idea of freezerburn. Blacksun is cute tho, Sun is best boy. Like morning follows night is a great song :)

I've never been into shipping.. didn't really ever make since to me unless it had something to do with the plot... ex. Re:Zero ... i don't like when characters are shaped by a trait they possess... like May is a perfect example of a character that can represent something without that being the character, unlike Yang currently who is just always like... Blake this.. Blake that... Ruby who? if they wanna make it a thing then cool.. but that shouldn't be %100 of the character

@@DimiDawg i can see why that presents a problem, although i haven't watch the anime you referred to, i'm sorry n.nu I think that the thing you quoted about the colours it has to do more with colour theory than just the usual shipping thing (the very shallow "they look cute standing together", etc). Colours are very important in this series, to the core pretty much. The thing about yellow and purple specifically it's because they're complementary colours, like blue and orange, and red and green. It's part of the theory of visual fundaments (i'm a graphic designer so this was one of my classes xD). They complement each other (extrovert/introvert, loud/quiet, etc). Colour theory supports this. In a way, it does so for Sun as well. Both Yang and Sun are similar in some ways, both have yellow aura, their names mean the same (Yang's chinese for Sunny or related to the sun). It's no surprise thematically speaking why they have such a connection with Blake, in their own ways. The thing you brought up about a special other being the sole attention/plot of a character is what people were complaining about with Sun in Volume 4, if he was letting his team down to do their own thing while he's the leader and some other stuff that fortunately were adressed when he parted ways in Volume 6. I'm enjoying you guys reacting to the series, please don't take this as if i'm trying to antagonize or something n.nu i can't proofread what i wrote since i'm supposed to be working right now xD keep up the good work :) much love from Perú :)

Great reaction! but the thing about Bumbleby is that, much like BlackSun, has been showing possibility since volume 1. Both are totally valid but they also both have build up. Sapphics notice wlw relationship blooming even when its more subtle more frequently than compared to those who are not sapphic. Be it lack of decent representation, or just our own experiences being so closely portrayed on screen. Its not your fault for not picking up on the bumbleby hints because you havent been searching for WLW representation in media your whole lives. And if anyone tells you youre "dumb" or "blind" or what have you should be easily ignored. Forgive me for this being so long, just wanted to share some info! Keep up the good work yall

@@DimiDawg I think its more showing that blake can have a good friend in sun, and not limit sun's character to blake's romantic interest. With the direction of Bumbleby likely being endgame, its nice to be able to have the best boy and yang be such good foils for how terribly adam treated blake.

Although I never thought about putting aura through his rings, I think Qrow fared better with his fists for a different reason. Scorpions have poor eyesight, but great hearing. Tyrian could hear and react to the vibrations from metal much better than a fist. SPOILER. Watch how he focuses on it instead of Qrow in V7C11.
