There will always be some in the RWBY fandom who just can't accept that other people may have a difference of opinion, a different take on things, and feel a need to flame. It's is best to just ignore, which I'm glad you guys do.

Ren' semblance isn't just reading people. It's seeing the emotions they are suppressing. Just like how he can supress emotions. The one he saw on himself was pink, the colour of love...

It's why I watch so many different reactors, so I can hear different views on situations in a show I like. Let's me view things in a different light. Ren can't caml people down, you can still see people worry when their "grey" it just mask's their emotions from the grimm. When his Semblances first activated it calmed/ sorta shut off his own emotions. It shows his Semblance growing last volume with his emotional back and forth, he's sensing everyone's emotions and it's frustrating him. But now he can still sense emotions but is now able to single out people. At least from my understanding

That is an interesting take on Ren's attitudes as of late. It make good sense. His emotional problems was really heralding the evolution of his new ability. I was hoping that it would lead somewhere.

I think we got the best looking scene in rwby so far when salem orchestrates the grim. That was beautiful.

We criticized a few things people took issue with including, Teams inaction when Oscar was taken, Aceops fight with Penny, and the military inaction when the Whale attacked.

@@TheGrizzledGeek Makes sense. There seem to be quite a few hardcore fans who can see No wrong in the show's writing or execution. And are ready to take up arms against anyone so says otherwise.

@@DocMicrowave there's a big difference between "no flaws" and calling out those who call things flaws that aren't actually flaws.

@@charlietango261 Well, I guess one man's rose....... The point I was trying to make was that there are those who just cannot tolerate someone having a different opinion. Flaws or no flaws. Not everyone is going to see things the same way. The issue is the response to these differences.

Emerald is supposed to be inspired by Aladdin. So I wonder if it might not be her that ends up using the lamp.

Great reaction. Yeah, that formation of the Atlas army didn't make much sense. But then this is the same military that apparently had only one airship on patrol. That fired one shot, and killed one Grimm before they took the shields down. Then had no AAA to fire at a large slow flying target that was able to approach and land. The same military that has been largely ineffectual as Heros and bad guys were able to come and go from Atlas unchallenged. So, not surprising at there choice of formation. That mission Ironwood is sending winter on sounds like a one way trip, a suicide mission. From the look on Winter's face, I think she realizes that. I guess the writers heard all the commentary and debates about why RWBY beat the AceOps so easily in V7. Felt the need for Ren to put out a little explanationary exposition for why they lost. (I still don't accept that. And the AceOps seemed to be back in form for round 2. Which makes that V7 loss feel even more contrived.) That was a nice evolution for Ren's semblance. Being able to see emotional states. Winter is quite conflicted. What would be interesting is if he can impact or control emotions in other people. Ruby - "How did it all get like this." As she's looking at her teacup and saying that, a flash of lighting causes her reflection to flash in her tea. VERY NICE!!! I wonder who on the writing team dared sneak that little nugget into the script. Klein showing up. Also nice. I was looking for a factor that would bring Weiss and Whitely together. Now we have a choice. Will it be Hazel or Emerald to use the Lamp for the last question. Of course Emerald is Aladdin so... But I'd like to think the writers won't make it that obvious. I am thinking both Hazel and Emerald will share access to the lamp and share in what ever answer Jinn gives. Maybe Emerald steals the Lamp, and Hazel asks the question. (Can't take a chance and have Emerald ask something stupid like 'does Cinder really care about me.') And yes, Salem would be quite ....... upset, if the last question is used up. I think the only reason she wants access to the lamp is to find out where and how to get the beacon relic. It's possible Hazel or Emerald may have to pay the price for that stunt. And if comes down to that, sadly I think it would be Hazel who gets taken out. Emerald may have a little more plot armor than him. Still no flying monkeys!

I thought we saw a winged Beringal on the ceiling just before Tyrian showed up. It might have being a regular one that just climbed up there.

Mike, you and I were of a wavelength about this episode. I actually made almost that same exact comment on Twitter about the setup of redemption arcs... I have a feeling Oscar's plan is going to backfire and Jinn will end up revealing the location of the Beacon relic to Salem. It will end up convincing Hazel that Ozpin was speaking the truth and that will pay dividends in the long run with Hazel's redemption, but in the short term, I think it will go badly. The sad part about Ren's line about no one being replaceable is even more sad when you consider who voices Ren... For this episode not being specifically written to be a mid-season finale, it works well as one.
