Probably my favorite villain in the show thus far. Unlike practically everyone else, he uses his intelligence as a weapon. And he basically wins, to boot.

@@jknetwork6211 To be fair? He earned it. There is a reason salem kinda respected him. He's not a powerhouse like cinder, but he still put up one hell of a fight, he never compromised the plans with personal feelings, Tyrian is still a threat because of his capabilities, SOMEHOW HE STILL DOES DAMAGE WHILE HE'S CAPTURED (Penny's hacking, his bag with the seer). Half the reason mantle was in disarray was his doing, and Vale would not have been such a slaughter without him hacking THE ENTIRETY OF IRONWOOD'S ARMY. Cinder may have the Fall maiden's powers, but Watts was the one burning atlas and vale to the ground. Also he's singlehandedly one of the most entertaining characters to watch. And his death happening because cinder got her feelings hurt is, indeed, bullshit.

I realized that each volume, there's a moment for each villian/antagonist to shine. Volume 1 & 2 was Torchwick's spotlight. Volume 3 was Cinder's spotlight. Volume 4 was Tyrian's spotlight. Volume 5 was Hazel's spotlight. Volume 6 was Adam/Cordovan's spotlight. And now, Volume 7 was Watts's time to shine.

Because of how little time I have from now to volume 8, I basically had to choose between Watts or Tyrian to do one of those on, and it's your reason that made me settle on Watts. This volume was his time to shine, and he did a heck of a job playing the calculating villain.

Watts is one of my favorite characters: he was intelligent, chewed the scenery every time he opened his mouth, even his motivation (while simple) makes his character enjoyable in that his sheer pettiness is only outdone by the likes of Reverse Flash from DC comics and finally he constantly told Cinder to metaphorically “get fucked” every chance he got which is always nice.

I used to think watts was boring at first, but then I saw V7, and now I think he's one of my favorite villains.

I've been waiting for this video. Dr. Watts has been my favorite villain since I saw V5. I knew his time would come and heavens, did it ever! He played his role extremely well and in the end, it seems that even his defeat was calculated, judging by what was in his bag. Granted I do think he wanted to do a bit more damage before facing defeat. I am curious to know about Arthur and James' past though. The two must have been good-ish friends at one point for Watts to continue to call him "James", when he is ordinarily polite when discussing others. Watts seems to believe that Ironwood's ascent was due to him, so they must have worked together for a fair period of time. I used to think they were on the same Huntsman in the Academy, but it's been revealed that Watts never unlocked a Semblance, so that's unlikely.

All we know for sure is that Watt's was part of the team that created Penny, though I'm guessing he faked his death before actually working on her himself. And we know he was mad at James for not picking his project.

​@@ImStrange_ ​ An interesting view. I imagine that picture on Pietro's desk was from when he and his team were working on P.E.N.N.Y , so in theory, Watts might know some things about Penny. Though... we'll have to see on that. Having a Maiden Robot may not have been the best option, if she can be manipulated in some manner. Yet its hinted that the Paladins were the project Watts put forth, and that they went along with it anyhow after Watts had faked his death. Though that may have just been one of his projects. Maybe we'll see whatever he originally offered to Ironwood? Hard to say, though it could be interesting.

@@HighPriestFuneral I shared a theory with a couple friends that since Watts is in a cell, maybe Ironwood in an act of desperation will make a deal with him to take control of Penny in exchange for freedom.

@@ImStrange_ That's a good possibility. Though that implies that Ironwood has gone back on why he went through with the project in the first place. He didn't want another weapon, he wanted to see the possibilities that would come with creating a new sort of life-form. Granted... her Amity Arena bio paints a slightly darker picture, that Penny was supposed to be a "ray of positivity" throughout any circumstance and that she was always intended to be the Protector of Mantle (if not the world, as she says in V2), so basically, an Anti-Grimm.

@@HighPriestFuneral Given Ironwood's current mental state, I'm willing to bet he could justify any action by staying focused on what he claims is the bigger picture. I could also see that once Watts does what he asks, he might kill him instead of giving him his promised freedon. That would be a shocking moment, both as an end to Watts, and an act of murder from Ironwood.

Hang on... “Our tin soldier’s heart has cost him his mind” Ironwood clearly has at least some kind of augmentation in his skull/brain given the metal on his forehead. I know I am clearly reaching, but have Ironwoods actions been a result of Watts tampering with his mind? It’s not totally out of the question given this universe’s technology and it would be just enough to cause chaos with raising alarm (I.e. nobody suspects Ironwood of being compromised). It’s also like 2am so I might just be crazy
