This episode is like the calm before the storm. Mainly because of the bumblebee canon, because Jaune had such a hard time alone for so long. That ending with Ruby having an anxiety attack upon seeing Crescent Rose is very alarming, she loves her weapon but now it only brings back bad memories😞

At 10:20 you missed the Summer Rose reflection in the first water reflection mirror when Ruby walked past it. Also Jaune's "Rabbit Dear" is called a "Jackalope", a mythical creature that is a cross between a "Jack Rabbit" and an "Antelope". Also BUMBLBEE IS FINALLY CANON. HELL TO THE YEAH. My analysis is that mirrors reflect regrets. Yellow: Regret for having to finish Penny off but also for having wasted so much time waiting. Weiss: Regret for not having been able to prevent Atlas' fall Ruby: Regret for not being up to her mother (who is her inspiration and guide). As we've seen since the beginning, when Little asks her who she is, Ruby has a hard time, or rather, she has more and more trouble knowing who she is. Seeing Crescent Rose at this moment reminds her of everything she was and hesitates to become again, she doesn't even know if she's up to the one she was when she entered Beacon (the discussion she has with her young version). It's really hard to see Ruby like this, even if we know that it's a necessary passage, it doesn't make it easier or bearable.

I will never get sick of this episode... 10:20 Hi summers reflection 10:33 The same music that played at the very end of V8 when Atlas was falling 16:14 Blake already knew how she felt but needed Yang to be as sure. She had shown a lot of hurt after Blake left (Even more in the song "All that Matters" than in the actual show -.-) and needed to hear it from her first, bursing out to say it back before Yang could even finish the sentence.... the brilliance of RWBY's writing is simple: Subtlety, something rarely seen in todays media and alien to many 18:40 The Fanbase in a nutshell

Another wonderful reaction! I especially loved Bethany's reaction to the Blake and Yang moments! The FNDM, or parts of it, wait SO LONG for the explicit Bumbleby _eros_ here. Slow-burn romance can be great, and implicit details can be rewarding, but after nine seasons we needed the payoff for this trail of breadcrumbs!

Man, Blake and Yang are such good friends! I’m too old to get caught up in the shipping side of young adult shows, but I do like the idea conceptually that the main cast are a sexuality spectrum as well as a colour one. Ruby ace, Weiss straight, Blake bi, Yang gay. And for anyone wondering how Blake can pivot from Sun to Yang like this I have the answer: she’s 18.

it wasn't even "switching" from Sun to Yang as such. Blake had feelings (different sorts) for both Sun and Yang from Vol 2-5 as you can see on multiple moments if you pay attention. At the end of vol 5 and start of vol 6 her relationship with Sun turned more into a pure friendship (and not just on her part but on Sun's part too "it was never about THAT brainiac" as he tells Neptune) and her relationship with Yang started to deepen as their time away from each other had helped them both realize how much they need each other. Confronting Adam accelerated the process and starting from vol 7 their feelings to each other were apparent to all (but super dense people like Ren).

When Ruby passes by the waterfall, her reflection is Summer. That little musical cue from the last scene of V8 when Weiss is looking at Atlas falling. Lewis seems to be a reference to the author of Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll. “I couldn’t even be the make believe hero.” Yikes. Even after all this time, the Bee confession makes me cry. I’d been waiting seven years for that moment (I only started the show after V3 had aired) and I think they did it so much justice. It makes me happy and giddy and it’s just crazy that it finally happened. And I love all the little details of it. Yang not expecting such a serious answer, expecting Blake to just continue this light flirting they’ve been doing for the last couple volumes, only to be taken aback when Blake immediately goes for such a sincere answer. Yang being so scared of saying the big thing out loud, because for the girl that’s always been abandoned, putting your heart in someone else’s hands is freakin terrifying. Blake being so sure. Blake watched Yang “die”, she almost lost the opportunity for this moment. So she’s ready, she’s been ready, she just didn’t want to push Yang before she was. But once Yang finally says “I love you” out loud she doesn’t even give her second to doubt it before reciprocating. The culmination of everything they’ve been through, and it’s this stunningly gorgeous sweet moment where lilies bloom and the sky clears. Everything about it, the music the animation the voice acting is so beyond amazing and kills me every time.

Did anyone notice at 10:21 they clearly didn’t notice by Ruby’s reflection looking like someone we know 😟 As i like to state that this episode was a very special to interesting one out there with the nice touch with Blake and Yang relationship to be a full “Bubblybee” moment till later we get a very tension scene with Jaune, Ruby, Weiss and Cat out there. As I bet no one is ready for the next episodes ahead. I hope anyone get a cool head and not a fire head or rage out there. May it be a pace that you can either like it or hate it. It all depends on the person watching it.

6:15 One thing that doesn't make sense about that reaction from Jaune: in the previous episode, the cat was there when he showed up to fight the first Jabberwalker. Jaune was also there when the cat said that they and hawker would hold off the new Jabberwalkers that appeared after they defeated the first one.

To be fair, he has been here awhile and knows that the cat is around. The cat and the jabberwalker are... connected in ways I wont spoil incase the reactors read. But Jaune would know that it makes sense for the cat to help protect people from the Jabberwalker. So he probably didnt link his presence to team RWBY. Yes I know the cat is literally talking to them in the fight scene, but it's also the chaos of a fight... so reasonable for Jaune to miss it.

Arryn Zech (Blake's VA) almost spoiled Blake and Yang getting together in a behind the scenes video from way back during the production of Vol 1 (2?) (before Kerry [or Monty, memory is fuzzy on that] stopped her) which she re-shared on her twitter after this episode aired You see each of the girls (represented by shooting stars in their colours) falling in reverse when Jaune plucks the clock fruit, he was the last to fall and last to arrive. Weiss having a thing for mature Jaune is a nice reversal of Jaune having a thing for Weiss back in Vol 1/2

Did you guys noticed that when Ruby was reflecting on those mirrors, you could see Summer Rose there? Besides, as you pointed out, Ruby’s mental health is slowly declining: her thinking just like Ironwood it’s taking away her optimism and she not getting happy upon receiving back her beloved weapon it’s sad to watch. Prepare for the next episode, because things are going downhill from here. I can’t wait to see your reaction for next episode. Be prepared. 2 things that made Rwby fans go bonkers in this episode.... 1.Wiese finding Jaune mature in a very...attracted way that white knight shippers say the dream is not dead or others bit upset trying to remind whiterose shipping(which is still not 💯 clear yet) 2. Bumblebee shippers that it finally happened the kiss of confessed feelings(as Jaune put it...I feel like I have waited forever for that)

One of the most complex and mindbending chapters of the series!! And very written by the way...... Jaune truly as been thru a journey in his wait for RWBY to arrive. To actually becoming the Rusted Knight and the real tale of Alex?!? Only thing missing on Jaune is the 'Thousand mile stare' of a war veteran!! I was amazed how they finally broke down the wall and bought Blake & Yang truly together. It was tastefully done. But..... Ruby....... All of this is visibly weighting her down even more. This isn't good. One thing is certain, folks. The next chapters are going to be a test for us. So, be prepared for anything. But, til then, Merry Christmas everyone and STAY GOLDEN!! 🎄🙏🏿🌹❄️🖤🔥

I like the couple that formed in this chapter, i really do, but DAMN it still hurts me to see it because i shipped Blake with Sun, they had so many good moments together, but sadly he went away and that gave Yang the chance to make her fall for her... Maybe Blake likes blond extroverts? Both Yang and Sun have that in common hahahaha. By the way SPOILER AHEAD Why couldn't Jaune return to their world in his adult form? Yeah i know that it would have be tragic for him since that would mean that he lost many years that he was never going to recover, but i kinda like the idea of him being a very tragic but still fighting character, him just returning to normal felt very "Deus Ex Machina" to me even though i know it was becuse of Alyx. i could've understand if it was because he "ascended" with the tree's help like Ruby is going to do later but that wasn't the case at all, he just went back to be young again because Alyx wanted him to, no ascension needed, the writers just went "Poof, Jaune is ok now! You're welcome".

I don't think Blake ever considered Sun as a potential partner, just someone cute and clumsy. Adam could see in Beacon how much Yang meant to Blake, so he didn't hesitate to hurt her. But she will always be grateful to him and his friendship.

I’m still of the opinion BB should’ve kissed last season where they reunited. 😅 It’s hard not to think the only reason it finally happened here was because RT knew they weren’t green lit for another volume. In hindsight, roughly 8 or so years for a first kiss is insane.💀

The main "coupple" in you story haven't even said I love you to eachother after an alledged 10 years of build upp and you literaly have the universe force them togeter. The FNDM: GREAT WRITING RIGHT HERE. Anyone who actually thinks this is good writing is either coping or just objectivly wrong. After Lumity this is some genuenly bad le gayge relationship. Rest in piss rosterteeth you deserved to go under and won't be missed.
