There are differences between how the Colts left Baltimore, and how the franchise left Cleaveland. The Colts packed up and hauled ass in the dead of night after claiming earlier that day that they weren't moving. At least Model informed Cleaveland of his intention to leave, and his reasons. I do admit that there shouldn't have been a legal battle over the team's name, colours, and history.... those should have been left in Cleaveland, period. Also, the NFL was quick to replace the Browns in just a few years, rather than over a decade and a half. I still remember when the expansion teams were proposed, and the head of the NFL told Baltimore's mayor, "Take your stadium money and build a museum." They did nothing but insult Baltimore time and time again. Cleaveland was never treated that way (nor should they have been). I empathize with Cleaveland fans, I really do. I'm a native Baltimorean, and when the announcement that "The Baltimore Browns are coming." I sneered, and said that the team and franchise is welcome here, but leave their name, colours and history where they belong. We'll come up with something unique to Baltimore. And that's eventually what happened. Because of Edgar Allan Poe, "Ravens" are synonymous with Baltimore, so the name was fitting.

Right they got team back in 4 years the Colts left and we didn't have a team for over a decade plus the they took the team logo with them.

@@IggyStardust1967I know this is a 6 month old comment but I can't let this go. You didn't say a correct thing about Modell. You should look more into the move and his entire history in Cleveland. It's fascinating (and for us, infuriating) but also very different than how you portrayed Modell. Modell was a douchebag that took advantage of the city, actively fucked over our baseball team, and stole the football team while moving in the night to never return because he knew we'd have burned his house down with him inside of it had he not left that way. He didn't even return for the funeral of Garza because he "feared for his safety" and he right to do so. I'm not an Irsay fan or anything and I get the seething hatred of losing the colts... but our stories are not the same, my friend. Irsay had issues with Baltimore for a damn decade before leaving. Issues that led to him teaming up with the Orioles even. Baltimore almost lost their baseball team over Memorial Stadium with how bad it was. Versus Modell who screwed over the Indians (also shared a stadium) because he owned the Stadium. While I feel bad for you for losing the colts name and history... I also don't get why Baltimore allowed it. Like... Cleveland set the precedence. Everyone expected the Baltimore Browns and then we threw such a massive shitfit about it, we kept our team but lost the players and staff. I'll never get why Houston and Baltimore just let their teams get taken.

Im a Browns fan and in 2002 I went to Baltimore with my uncle to watch the game. I may not like The Ravens, but their fans treated us extremely well. A couple of Ravens fans tailgating even cooked us up some burgers. We had a great time, and their fans are OK in my book.

The Ravens move in ‘95 and win a Super Bowl 5 years later. The Browns have managed 1 winning season in the last 15 seasons. I really don’t know what the Browns problem is but something had got to change.

The most satisfying win is also the first NFL game I've ever attended. 2012 week 4 Thursday night game between my Baltimore Ravens vs. the Cleveland Browns. That was the first game after the infamous Fail Mary incident. To this day, I've never seen any referee officials receive any type of standing ovation, and I haven't seen it since.

As a Ravens fan I don't hate the Browns. They are a little brother that I enjoy beating twice a year but I always root for them to beat Cincy and Pittsburgh
