I very much enjoy your videos, but I have a request to make them more realistic. Is there any way you would consider CPU's that match the GPU's you are testing? No one would pair an i9-12900k with a GTX 1650 or an RX 6500 xt. These would be paired with budget processors, for instance, either an i3-12100F or a Ryzen 5 1600/2600. For mid-range GPU's like a 6600xt, 6700 xt, RTX 3060, or RTX 3060 ti, a mid range CPU like a 5600x, 12600k, or even a 12400F/12500F would be more appropriate. In my opinion the only reason for using an i9-12900k or Ryzen 9 5950x is for the high end graphics cards, like an RX 6800 or better, or an RTX 3070 ti or better. I only mention this because pairing graphics cards with similar quality processors would give peoople a more accurate example of what can be expected from each tier of GPU and CPU. IF it was in production, do you think it would still hit the 180 price point with silicon prices up 40%, Mem prices 4x higher, shipping 6x higher and the inflation on top of that? comparing old product prices not adjusted for cost increases isn't a real comparison. You must adjust, because no one will build that 580 today for the same price they did 5 years ago. Remember how small the die is on a 6500xt compared to how big the die is in a 580. They can only sell the 6500xt for 200 (ha) because of silicon yield difference, it's why they used a mobile chip.

When talking budget cards AMD is always the way to go, high end however falls to Nividia, the RX 6500 xt performs considerably better at $180-$200 while the GTX 1650 performs worse at $200-$300

PCI 4 has the advantage when played on ultra settings. If you play your games on medium as it was supposed to be played on a 4gb video card, then the RX has the same advantage even if you go for PCI 3. Regardless, the 6500xt is much better

1650 was run on PCIe 3.0, the RX 6500XT was run on PCIe 4.0. You need to test it with PCIe 3.0 as the consumers looking at this price point for a GPU would tend to have PCIe 3.0.

Most PC's, if not EVERY PC that this card will go into is PCIe 3.0 and these benchmarks are about 20-30% higher than those systems would get. This card is also priced closer to the 1660 & 1650S MSRP than the 1650 D6.

4GB VRAM cards are best to be played on 1080 Medium (Max, not more then this). Thats where the gameplay is smooth in 4GB cards and it wont bottleneck in most demanding AAA titles.

But if you have nothing, this is supposed to be (but likely will be scalped for higher) priced at the price of a 1650 but performs better at least in terms of FPS in games. The big issue is the lack of media encoders in my opinion. But if you just want to play games and can't find anything else this isn't as bad as spending $150 - $200 on a gtx 1050.

Je pense plutôt que A380 est au niveau de la 1630 de Nvidia pour moins cher. La 1630 est inférieure à la 6400 en témoigne de nombreux bench. With only 4 PCIe Lanes, It means PCIe will bottleneck the GPU just by using a computer build from 2 years ago. Put this GPU in an old FX AM3+ system with PCIe 2.0 it would be an absolute potato. Not to mention, outside of gaming, it's horrible on any PCIe version because it lacks video compression. So if it's a low end box for streaming either video or gaming with Geforce Go, you would be better off with iGPU.

I just bought an temporary 'new' 6500XT. Fed up of all the 'faulty' 2nd user cards flying around the market place. 2x 980 ti's. Dodgy. One returned & the replacement the same. Got this for around £170 (powercolour). Many other card vendors selling it for around £250. That (£250) is the usual budget I'd spend on a 'new' gfx card & gets you what you want out of AAA titles for a couple years. But not for this card. £160/170 is fine. It's just in the current silicon shortage & card inflation even this card is more than it should be. I'll look for something like a 'new' 1070 in the current situation, they are about in the east. I've been in the game long enough to know it's not worth spending more than £250 on GFX. It's either outdated & outpaced by another the same price within 3-6 months. Or the price radically reduced because of the latter. Rather have a card that works. The cards that are £350 -£400 now are the ones that would usually sit around the £250 point. The 6500XT doesn't seem to be as bad as the rap it's getting, if you get it at the proper price, going into PCI ex 4.

Are you nuts? The 1650 is years old already. Why on earth would you want to pay the same price for performance from years ago? Hell, the RX570 is even older, and was cheaper, and even it matches or beats it most of the time. Also, the RX6500 completely lacks the ability to use ReLive, which again, the 570 has no issues with. I'm not positive, but I'm guessing the 1650 can use Shadowplay. Don't settle, stop giving these companies excuses. They're not your friend. I have a pc at each of my parents homes, but for some reason the gtx 1650 at one home performs about 4 times as well as my rx 6500 xt at the other home, the gtx 1650 is able to play teardown at smooth 70 fps while the rx 6500 xt gets a max of 50 fps and freezes once every few seconds, and the gtx 1650 just performs far better in general, and the rx 6500 xt doesn't even get close to that from my experience (I use the same cpu and ram at both homes so that isn't the reason)

The answer is no, 4GB is definitely not enough. The three settings you're lowering also have the highest impact on picture quality. Sacrificing that much picture quality is terrible. It also means it's not future proof, as you will keep lowering settings and even resolution to make newer games playable.

EDIT : i still own a HD 6950 from 2010 with only 2gb of vram and i'm able to run games like ARK, GTA, LOL, Warframe, Minecraft, Skyrim, Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, Left 4 Dead 2, GMOD, Portal 2, Dark Souls 3, Deep Rock Galactic, CSGO................................most of these games run 900p medium high settings at 30-60fps on avg... if 2gb is enough for 2005-2016 titles... 4gb is still enough in 2022...unless you go for 2020-2022 unoptimised beta launches like battlefield 2042 and before you say that lowering settings from ultra down to very high or high is a big mistake...look at a good balance of performance to visual fidelity and you'll see that high settings are usually optimal... and some games like ARK survival evolved's most optimal settings is NORMAL with lower sky quality for how garbage the optimisation is...if we take GTA 5 for example...if you lower shadows from ultra to high, reflection from ultra to high, grass from ultra to high, particules from ultra to high and visual effects from ultra to normal...all you get is better stability and more fps ( youre millage may vary from your specs )..........................ex : i have an rtx 3060 with ryzen 9 5900x and go from 70-80fps at 1440p to an avg of 120fps...and honestly i'd rather have 120fps than very little improvement visually......even MSAA x8 has little difference visually but has a huge fps drop because it's horribly optimised also something i'd like to point out abour ray tracing... ray traced reflection only look immersive in crispy clean environment such as a freshly clean hospital or hotel or fancy restaurent...other than that i always turn it off if i can because outdoor environments have little to no reflections...yes even a rain puddle will rarely have crispy reflections...often due to the lack of wind and by the fact it has stopped raining not long ago....honestly...reflections simply have to not be blurry...crystal clear reflections in dusty areas like a village taken down by army soldiers fighting with guns and explosive and such would make the area messy and unclear...turning that off is just better framerate....ray traced shadows and light are a big yes...lighting and shadows are important to be ''there''...but ray traced reflections can kiss my ass...it's unimersive and uncomfortable

I dont know why people are calling this trash , it clearly beats budget cards like gtx 1650 by a long shot , supports ray tracing , gives fps in many games like a decent mid ranger. People say it doesnt do well in pcie 3.00 but this is meant to be used for pcie 4.00 boards.

Nevermind guys, ethereum soon to be proof of stake, chip makers all opening new foundries and new gpus in q3/q4 of this year... oh and intel is entering the market soon. By this time next year, things will look the reverse of the way they are now.

9:0 there is more than 30 fps difference in call of duty vanguar the 1650 runs it at 40 while the ex 6500 xt runs it at more than 70 stable fps
