Yea, but why not buy the $550 4070 Super at that rate you feel me? They have to keep the approach from last gen and be $100-$200 less than the competing part to grab marketshare OR bundle the CPU/GPU up but their CPUs aren't selling like hotcakes in the enthusiast side of things. 1% lows are still busted in this game. 300+ fps with dips of 1% lows into the 85-100's is pretty piss optimization or something else is off.

I've found the really bad dips like that come from recording and are uniquely low on the Nvidia side of things mainly because of GeForce Experience, using OBS shoots the numbers up EVEN when recording

you need to cap your fps to something you know you are gonna get with rivatuner

@@sup5778 yea that’s an OG fix at the expense of capping around your lowest FPS and it was the only thing that worked for the broken mess when they dropped Vondel back in the day. Intel CPUs had no shot and were stuck getting sub 140 FPS and AMD CPUs were stuck around 220 if you used that RivaTuner method then at least you’d have a smooth 140/220 FPS

No I don't have a 4K monitor so I'd have to crank up the render scale or use some super resolution type of feature when sometimes breaks the recording (at least for 1080P via OBS I get black bars)

9800X3D, no one should be buying the inflated 7800X3D at this time. If it was back to that $360-$380 range again like it was a couple months before announcement the answer would be based on whetehr your games were CPU limited or not.

Yes, right now it is working very well and doesn't hit the performance too hard like last year where I had to use OBS otherwise my performance was stuck under 200 FPS with XTX and 280-300 when not recording

That is for sure not minimal setting. Otherwise try the following: -update the bios , update chipset drivers. -make sure to run dual channel ram and they are installed in their recommended slots, xmp profile enabled. - make sure ur 3090 no heating, install hwinfo to see gpu temp, hotspot or junction temp - optimize as in videos recently added in youtube

Yea, I’d prep the rig and if you get a good deal on a used 7900 XTX or even new given Black Friday and Cyber Monday but that’ll get you refreshed and invest in a decent board if you want to take advantage of the support they promised. I saw people with the better X370 boards and high end B350 be able to support the 5800X3D so either buy low and rebuy a refresh board or buy upper mid to high to last

What are you running on FCLK? I got mine on 2200 with 6000mhz cl30 ram but overclocked also on 6400mhz with tighter timings I achieved on benchmark CPU avg fps 478 with 391 1% lows 4090 is really holding this CPU to show its performance, we really need 5090 as fast as possible 😂 it is crazy how much better is this CPU then my 13900ks.. On benchmark i get 100 fps more with 9800x3d And in nuketown i was dropping to 250-270 fps with my 13900ks With 9800x3d im not going under 300 Its wild

You can use RivaTuner and cap FPS 5-10 lower than your average that you know you can hit 100% of the time

Wow! still like 98% GPU usage even at 1440p low settings. My 4090 doesn't behave this way. I have 9800x3d too but the usage fluctuates so much even on competitive settings.

I doubt the CPU is holding you back THAT much, could be things like the render worker count, background apps in Windows, and highly depends on your RAM - like if your on 3600C18 versus low latency DDR4 and if you're on DDR5 then that chip probably is capped at a crippling 6000-6400MT

4K Extreme sounds like FG is on via interpolation in the game files which SIGNIFICANTLY increases the lows and the overall FPS . My first XTX video on here I had it on by accident because I never launched the campaign so it was never shown to me in graphics setting but I was hitting like 280-340 FPS on 1440P Extreme which was sweet as can be.
