As a recovering addict.....this song hits every feel. Six month sober and honestly, it doesn't get any easier. One of the hardest things I've ever done was kicking that habit. Pain pills destroyed my life and ruined my marriage. I lost my best friend the day I went into rehab. I halfway expected her to be there for me when I got out but....I'd already ruined that. Don't wait...if you're an addict and you wanna stop.....DO IT NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!

Same here! 12 months sober, great to hear that you're doing better! I took my fiance to rehab with me and we pulled thru, if I hadn't he would have been dead and I had ODed a couple days before rehab. So now we are expecting a child and we are in tune with recovery and outpatient. Best thing I could have done for myseld

God knows I want to quit so bad I've been a meth addict for so long I just turned 30 and I've pretty much lived half my life. It's so hard, i know I can do it though. Cuz I was an alcoholic at a young age and I quit cold turkey from when I was 22 but I was drinking since I was 16. Can you guys say a prayer or send some good juju my way? Maybe it'll help me to be the Way you are and at least be a step ahead of my demon and not behind it. God bless you guys. And thank you so much for the powerful comment that you've left on this video.

“Everyone’s high as fuck right now, and no ones ever coming down!” This line is the most truthful thing I’ve ever heard in music so far. As a former addict (sober almost 7years now) this song speaks volumes about America’s opioid problem. A buddy from a group I attend showed me this song and I listen to it everyday

Heroin killed my father when I was 6. And the apple didn't fall far from the tree .. been on heroin for 10+ years . This song randomly played on the day same day I began my cold turkey attempt to get off heroin. I'm 3 days into it and I'm absolutely miserable. Withdrawals are no joke and this song made me smile and get goosebumps for the first time in years. I never knew exactly how numb I was to "feeling" things until I heard this and it resonated so we'll. RIP dad. I will always miss you and wonder what life would have been like with you. He was only 26 I refuse to go out the same way.

Quit living in the past. Quit thinking about it as life happened to you and instead FOR you. Life makes you who you’re meant to be. I have a 2 year old who went through 4 surgeries, come from an abusive childhood, been homeless 4 times, had to deal with my sons mom trying to take custody. None of that changed me. Not even joining the Marine Corps did. Focus on living for the day. If you’re depressed, you live in the past, if you’re anxious, you live for the future, if you’re at peace then you’re living in the here and now. Focus on the now and be grateful for what you have cause someone wishes for the life you have. Depression won’t exist then. Just a little help for all of you.

Nothing is like drugs and alcohol. Well alcohol is a drug too. I don't think you understand what drugs and alcohol do. And that is good that you don't understand. Think of somebody having a beer when they take a shower before work. Thats the difference.

@@todddoom Sugar (especially in soda) is such an instant pleasure, psychological addiction to it can give us the same mentality as the psychological addiction we see in a lot of drugs. There's a lot of other examples but psychological addiction doesn't only happen in drugs, and I've tried lots of hard drugs and smoke weed everyday.
@shootembadguys5688 Жыл бұрын
So, so, SO many things are like drugs/alcohol. Why/how would anyone not "understand what drugs/alcohol do"? It's so easy to see it might as well be transparent. I think those are the easiest substances to see the effects of. No need to be condescending; "it's good you don't understand". You just assumed they're dumb for them, put words in their mouth, then high-horsed your own words lol. They didn't mention they don't "understand" the effects of drugs/alcohol, you said it for them. Ever seen anyone "quit" sugar and get as dopesick as heroin? Warlock said we all have vices (which is true), that's it. There's no "secret club with insider information" regarding drugs/alcohol. We all learn about it, see it, most of us have experienced it in some way (be it through ourselves, a family member or friend). What about someone who plays online poker or basically lives at the casino? Someone who loses hundreds or even thousands of dollars even before sun-up/their morning shower/work?
@shootembadguys5688 Жыл бұрын
@@plasmicats2000 I read a study where a group of people were given fresh grown food and stuff from local farmers markets, instead of from the grocery store (there EVERYTHING is covered in sugar. Even the water mist they use on the fresh produce has sugar in it), and they got dope-sick. Sugar releases dopamine and affects the opioid receptors in our brains. It has (or can have) the same withdrawal effects as cocaine. Lotta substances like that. It's just sheer ignorance to say "drugs/alcohol are unique and nobody understands that but me" lol

First time I heard this Song was at the Sheltered Workshop. Guess Lots of people relate to this Song. I'm 53. Life has so many Twists and I get so tired of the Games and Getting through the days. But I Know It's hard for Many. Wish There was Someone I Could scream at. Some wall I could punch. People expect me to be silent and Kind all the time. They don't See I put up a Good Front. This Song Hits Me too.
