Walking into Zellerbach Hall, in Berkeley, I turned to my wife and said, " I wonder who's with them" ... ; of course, it was just the two of them. That was Friday night. Saturday, we drove up to the Eel River, to hear then again. There he was, riding in that long black limousine. GREAT shows ! Thanks, for posting this.

Well you give people long enough and they will make an ass out of themselves. Ry auditioned for the Stones and “Jammin’ With Edward” was put out. Not really an album, but more a collection of outtakes. In the brief time this was being attempted, both Ry and Keith discovered that they were less compatible than originally thought. The only comment to disappointed fans by Ry was a remark about their arrangement of Buddy Hollys “Not Fade Away”. “I can’t believe they did that” was the quote. Ry was not very well known, and the Stones had a big album with sales going. They wanted someone who understood their take on blues and that could mesh styles with Richards. I think Keith was genuinely surprised at how this became a thing in the rock press. I’m so glad that the experiment didn’t ruin either of their careers. Ry has been so good, all the while staying the course without mass audiences. The Stones have managed as well. While Keith May have assimilated some licks, Ry teaching him is just wrong. Save that Coochie-Coochie idol worship bs for someone else.
