Funny the ASA says you can only get the ICC with them."Only ASA members who have completed through ASA 104, Bareboat Cruising, are eligible to order the ICC certificate. One must be a current member of ASA to be issued the certificate.

Yes ASA do a bait and switch - somewhere along the line it turns into the IPC which is NOT the ICC created by United Nations. ASA can not issue the ICC - it is impossible the USA never signed Resolution 40 with the UN and ASA is not a national sailing body. The IPC is a made up certificate by ASA. Just sayin'. Who ever thought of issuing an international license without even doing Coastal Navigation. We write the ICC through the Royal Yachting association in the UK who is the nationally appointed body by the UK Government ordained to administer the ICC.

In 2017, NauticEdbecame fully recognized by the US Coast Guard as an approved Sailing Education body under the American National Standards. Consequently, the NauticEd SLC is now fully accepted internationally by yacht charter companies and Port Authorities.

Newbie starting my Sailing Journey.... Should i just ignore ASA and focus on RYA as it seems to have International Recognition ?
@NauticEd3 жыл бұрын
If you are looking for competence then both RYA and NauticEd are the most internationally respected. NauticEd covers the theory online and a larger presence in the USA. See www.nauticed.org

@@NauticEd - so we can do the theory part with NE. Use that towards practical test with any RYA training center? Is it possible to setup a short call
@NauticEd3 жыл бұрын
@@sanjayrajsoni You can gain the fully internationally accepted SLC sailing license all through NauticEd. NauticEd has practical training centers throughout North America and some internationally. Go to www.nauticed.org feel free to contact us direct from there.

The RIP-OFF RYA...UK course starts from £399 per person ( that’s 730 aud) Why are those who wish to take the day skipper course in he United Kingdom charged more than double for the same course that Australia RYA uses?
@NauticEd5 жыл бұрын
You might be mixing the theory and practical courses. Anyway, for the Theory course with NauticEd you pay $US394. At a school, they will probably charge you for the theory plus practical combined.

@@NauticEd So in that case should we Focus on ICC instead of ASA certs?
@NauticEd3 жыл бұрын
@@sanjayrajsoni The NauticEd SLC is fully recognized internationally and is also a recognized sailing education body by the US Coast Guard. ASA is not - ASA is a privately held company.
