Great honest interview from excellent musician I too have tinnitus and it can be difficult at times due respect to Ryan for changing his life to help reduce his health problems.

So glad Ryan got clean. He seems so much happier and knows what direction he's going. It's amazing that he left NYC because he was broke! With all the great music he has made....it just shows how artists get screwed by the record co.'s I like to know what song he would say embodies his philosphy and would be considered his greatest work so far. I bet it would be surprising to his fan base.

He left NY b4 he made Heartbreaker, that's when he was broke... then that got successful enough for him to move back n make Gold, never got dropped or screw by a record label again. Think he gave two combined answers to that question so can be confusing if you don't know his back story. :)

@@jodiegordon5559 He started his own record label BECAUSE he was screwed around by the record company at the time who didn't follow his artistic vision and devotion to his fans. He thus created PaxAm Records.

That's what I read in an article which had direct quotes from Ryan Adams. I'm by no means the ultimate guru, so I apologise for what could be seen as my hubris and know-it-all tone before. Best wishes to everyone.

@@madeleinedoyle1790 hey, it's been a couple years since I left that comment, I'd have to watch his interviews again to verify but I'm sure I would've been quoting from a video interview? Magazine articles often misquote. To be fair though, I had to read my comment a couple times to understand what I was trying to say lol. I did say "he never got dropped or screwed by a record company AGAIN" so I think I was agreeing but trying to sort out the timelines n reasons for fan trivia incase people wanted to know but getting on a bit now, can't remember lol. But fair dues for the correction! Hopefully one day he'll do an autobiography, then we can all know the word according to RA! hey, and good for u for checking ur tone of ur comments, not many people do that online and it's a nice thing, reminds us we are real people. Intentions can be so misconstrued through text. I think my comment came off a bit poncey now I read it again?! Sorry for that! Stay safe. 🌈

I wish the interviewer would ask questions, rather than tell Ryan Adams his own answers.
