Every single line of this song is exquisitely perfect. I have never found a song that encapsulates pure MISSING so well. The chords might be simple but it works, you know? When the anger dissipates and you're just bereft... Wanting to call her and trying to resist... The good memories that haunt you when you pass the places you went together... And then the image of finding her hairs still on the pillow, silver hairs, because you're not that young anymore, and missing everything about her, even that little sign of aging that society still considers imperfection... Goddamn, dude.

Ryan, beautiful sad song from your heart and soul. I lost my fiancé in September from an accidental (OD). She came over to see me before checking into rehab. Something she wanted to do before we got married and had 1 more baby. She never made it, died in my arms, police did not even try to save her, to busy robbing our stuff, booking me for murder then sending me away for over a month in jail, this way I could not go to her wake, funeral or burial. Plus had me evicted from our place while I was Jail, took what they wanted, then tossed the rest in the garbage !! Lia would of been 38 and I would have been 58 when we got married. Now i literally have nothing but some of my memories, I am homeless, jobless, zero money, no work, along with tons of medical bills. They would not take us to the Veterans hospital since i am a Veteran, nope regular hospital only costing us almost $100,000 ! Like a disabled Veteran has that kind of money lying around the house collecting dust. I feel for you sir, along with anyone else who reads this about losing a loved one. Yes, it doesn’t matter anymore, unless someone like you Mr. Adams turns our sad emotions into a beautiful song like this. Thank you for relieving our pain for tonight, it puts a smile on my sad face , first time in 5 months. Life long fan of yours, have a great year ahead sir if you can……

It's so hard to be without you Lying in the bed, you are so much to be without Rattles in my head that empty drum filled with doubt Everything you lose, the wisdom will find its way out Every night is lonesome and is longer than before Nothing really matters anymore It's so hard to be without you Used to feel something, and now only I feel humble Stinging from the storm inside my ribs where it thunders Nothing left to say or really even wonder We are like a book and every page is so torn Nothing really matters anymore It's so hard not to call you Thunders in my bones out in the streets where I first saw you When everything was new and colorful, it's gotten darker Every day's a lesson, things were brighter before Nothing really matters anymore It's so hard to be without you Everyday I find another little thread of silver Waiting for me when I wake some place on the pillow And then I see the empty space beside me and remember I feel empty, I feel tired, I feel worn Nothing really matters anymore
