The tophat story reminds me of when I was on medication that caused me to have hypnopompic hallucinations - they’re hallucinations you get when you’re woken up too quickly, very similar to sleepwalking. I “woke up” to something stroking my back - looked around and it was Tim Curry’s Pennywise standing over me smiling. Sleepwalking me apparently doesn’t feel emotions because I just turned back around to face the wall and a couple minutes later I was fully awake enough to realise what had happened lol.
