I met Ryan Clements when I was 16 years old in 2008 in Tampa! I didn't know who he was, but we were talking skateboarding and he hooked me up with a VIP pass to the Tampa Pro just out of the goodness of his heart! I'll never forget that! THANK YOU DUDE!

These behind the magic episodes are so fascinating. The amount of "business" that goes into supporting the counterculture skateboarder in a largely invisible way is pretty cool to hear about.

No mention of this being the 300th episode. As an Iowan it’s amazing to continue hearing how welcoming our city and skateboarding community are. The Lauridsen skatepark is a treasure and we’re lucky to have it. Here’s to many more years of shredding the park and more Nine Clubs!

@@ijustlike0010 it’s so difficult to narrow down. Summed up, every session involves skating something different. The big bowl is so much fun to flow around in. I’d never skated one that large before the park opened so it took getting used to. The step up (next to the 16 set) is extremely fun. The street course has literally endless run possibilities. The small section offers some low (~4”-6”) manual pads that are great for learning, along with a couple of kickers, a perfect ledge over a gap, and a couple gap to manual pads.

Absolutely right about new skatepark builds. So often these designers forget the basics. Long live the humble flat bar and ledge - every skatepark should have these essential obstacles.

My city ripped out our DIY in order to revamp it’s pickle ball courts in 2021. Two years later, after twenty plus years of trying, we finally got a park. Shortly after they also re did the pickle ball courts. March 2021-August 2023 there was literally no where to skate though.

44:41 kinda disagree with this take. The whole reason that these contests are even able to be had is because of the support from amateur skaters. To say that they don’t deserve large prizes or or purses is a slap in the face. Be for real, skateboarding is a high risk sport and no one is sending themselves down handrails for “the love of skateboarding”. If the people who run the major contests don’t provide an avenue for rising skaters to afford to focus solely on skateboarding, they will eventually run out of skaters.
