Ryan Garcia vs. Javier Fortuna - A CLOSER LOOK (4K)

Ryan Garcia and Javier Fortuna will meet in the ring after all.
The fighters have agreed to a deal for a 135-pound fight on July 16 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on DAZN!
Garcia and Fortuna were set to fight last July, but Garcia withdrew to address his mental health. The star boxer was then lined up to fight Joseph Diaz Jr. in November 2021 but was forced to pull out after he suffered a wrist injury that required surgery.
The 23-year-old from Southern California finally returned in April with a unanimous-decision win over Emmanuel Tagoe.
While many are calling for a huge fight with Tank, Garcia is set for perhaps the toughest assignment of his career, even if Fortuna isn't on Davis' level. The 33-year-old Dominican boxer shapes up as a second world-class opponent in three fights for Garcia after a seventh-round TKO of Luke Campbell in January 2021.
Fortuna (37-3-1, 26 KOs) possesses a powerful left hand and an aggressive, free-swinging style, but he's coming off a clear decision defeat to Diaz in July. Fortuna bounced back in February with a stay-busy first-round KO and now lands the fight he's been lobbying for.
"Ryan Garcia should take this fight very seriously and train properly because he will be facing, by far, the best fighter of his career," Fortuna said last April before the July 2021 bout was cancelled.
"Hopefully on fight night, there will be no excuses for his loss. ... I have too much of everything for Ryan Garcia. His [win over Campbell] showed how easy he is to hit. And his power won't mean anything to me. But mine will put him to sleep."
If Garcia, can push past Fortuna, a fight with "Tank" Davis is among the biggest in all of boxing.

What makes this division so great is the different styles and talents at the top. Elusive Haney, Fast hands Ryan and Trap setting Tank but nothing compares to Lomachenko. Loma is the most unique fighter out there only Usyk who trains with Loma is comparable. All the haters will say he has two loses but did anyone watch those 2 loses? Salido robbed him with low blows and Teofimo barely beat him when he had only one hand

Loma was and still is a failed hype job. Only casuals and fanboys say otherwise. Loma fought scared and timid against Teo and lost easily. Loma was literally afraid to even try to use an angle against Teo out of fear of what was waiting for him. Loma fought dirty in that fight as well with a minimum of 5 intentional head butts as well as constantly leading with his head. As for the Salido fight Loma was mauled by a journeyman. There’s a reason they have kept Loma away from that style since. But hey, casuals will say anything and claim everyone is just hating on the fighter they fanboy for. Loma can fight but he’s clearly a hype job

Haney, Tank, and Ryan haven't fought an elite opponent. Well, Tank kind of has but not at light weight. He has a great resume for a 130 lb fighter, but he took those /126130 lb names at 135. Just stop. I do not like Garcia either, but I am mature enough to be realistic. Fortuna's only chance is a very early stoppage. If he cannot stop Garcia within the first couple rounds, he is getting knocked out. Fortuna has no defense. He never tucks his chin, never moves his head off center, keeps his guard too wide, lowers his guard when throwing a punch. If I had to bet on this, I'd bet Garcia stops Fortuna within 6 rounds. No doubt about it. Be a fan of boxing, stop hating the fighters, because that is not what real fans do. Just enjoy the show.
