They are also players that do not come around very often. Only KDB in the PL comes close in terms of vision, sometimes pogba when he is playing well. This is why people need to cut Utd slack, Ozil is apparently a 'generational talent'. Scholes and Ronaldo in one team is basically omnipotent. They will not have players like this in their team again. Giggs as well. Unreal trio. (Vidic gets an honourable mention too. Utd's best defender ever)

This is something United need to do a lot more of. His first thought is 'can I break the next line with a ground pass' if not, 'can I get it directly into a striker with a ground pass', if not that 'I'll play a direct ball over the opposition'. It's about making the safest possible forward pass. This is how a midfielder should think and it is sorely lacking in the current crop. I see signs of it improving recently, but there's a long way to go before our midfielders start seeing the game like Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Rooney & Fergie did.

This guy has everything to be a good central midfielder. Calm, composure, skill and a little speed. Giggs was like a new invention in that aging ManUtd team. He mastered the role. He played some fantastic matches late in his career in that role. What a great player!

Giggs should have made the move to midfield 5 years earlier than he did. I saw every game he payed for United. To begin with he was dynamite but by 2002/3 he just wasn't the same player. He wasn't taking on full backs as much and his delivery never improved. Lee Sharpe could put wicked balls in regularly, as did Beckham but Giggs was not consistent enough crossing and we ended up losing possession far too much for my liking. When he did make the move however I was amazed just how easily he adapted. His vision was good and his relatively short passing was decent. Add his great work ethic and attitude to that and we had a very decent midfielder. Not Scholes or Keane level but a great man to have around and in the squad when needed!!!
