There are a number players who scored solo goals after beating a number of defenders but why Giggs goal stands out above the others is because of the magnitude of the game and the opposition whom he did this to. The legendary back 4 of Arsenal and Giggs ripped the best defence apart.

As long as I live I will never ever forget this goal. Arsenal were an incredible team and to beat their defense like this was a mark of how good of a player Giggs was. I now live in the US and do not really follow football anymore, in any event I don't think I will ever see a better goal, in fact it wasn't just the goal, it was also the bitter rivalry between the players and managers, as well as the incidents during the game. Don't think we will ever see anything like this again.

Even to this day, this is best game of football I have ever seen. ironic really, because it was a replay of a terrible, boring game (which United should have won, but got a dodgy decision on a goal disallowed). I always remember, I was on my midweek paper round. The papers were late that evening, which annoyed me, because I didn't want to miss a second of the game. I also had a double run which meant even more time. Just before kickoff, my Aunt decided it was a good time to visit (probably because my uncle and cousin were watching the game, lol). I let her in, called my mum and made it clear I was not in the mood for family pleasantries. What followed was 120 minutes of football theatre of the highest order. Jesus, to be 14 again.

Thank you Ryan! I was in the Doug Ellis Stand looking down on your run. Thought realistically it might be a tired shot into the crowd behind the goal, and then the net bowled out, and pandemonium erupted all around me!
