Loved this song the first time I heard it. Grew up in Chicagoland, memory of fogging up a car with Jane Joritz one cold night in 1978. Who is now a famous poet, go figure!

Grew up in Peoria IL. Used to watch the river freeze. Drove up to Chicago and saw Lake Michigan freezing as it broke against the rocks. This song hits.

I respect this guy a lot. Definitely looks like South Haven. I know SJ BH more and silver beach but damn this hits close to home. I knew a girl I liked and hung out with but she moved away….

I've been waiting for a song like this for a while!!! Every once in a while, not every year sometimes, a song like this comes along and gives me goose bumps and you can play it all day on repeat. Unfortunately the Video is a huge disappointment though!!! Talk about low budget and sadly even lower energy. Actually brought me down from the high from listening to it imagining Ryan belting it on stage in front of screaming fans. Especially at the intro ending at "1,2,3,4" !!!!!. Instead he looks like he's about to fall asleep on the beach and not caring about the song. I mean just think of the title, "Midwest rock and roll" Give the viewer something to make us want to light a Bick lighter in the air and wave it side to side like at a sold out rock show. Even no effort at hiding the terrible lip synching. Would have been so much better off and cheaper to just edit footage in black and white of him belting it out in the recording studio.
