Ryan Seacrest Getting His Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame (2005)

I honestly don't get it. American Idol started in 2002. How did this guy get a star on the walk of fame in 2005. Actress Coleen Gray who starred in films with Tyrone Power, Victor Mature, Bing Crosby, William Holden, George Raft, John Payne and Sterling Hayden. She was in feature films from 1947 and throughout 50's and 60's. She was denied a star and passed away in 2015. And this man gets a star in 2005. Shouldn't actual Hollywood actors be considered before someone who got fame in 2002?
