Listening to this in 2021. I discovered the song when my best friend - and first girl crush - cut contact with me in 2011. We were both really into Ryan Tedder and OneRepublic and I was listening to this one and crying so hard. That was my first real heartbreak, I was 15 and I didn't think I'd ever be happy again. Now here I am, alive, not always happy but getting there, and still think nothing compares to Ryan Tedder. Anna, if you happen to be reading this, thank you for making me realise that I liked girls too, even if it hurt that you never liked me back. I hope you're having a good life

Honestly, I do not think that Ryan Tedder's voice is anything special. BUT, I absolutely love his songs and OneRepublic. His compositions are so original and they have layers of symbolism and a deeper meaning in each and every one. He is a great artist, and if you look at previous great artists, not all of them had great voices either. I think Ryan Tedder is one of the few remaining gifted songwriters and performers.
