@abbu babu it's not the fact that people are telling them what to do, or even the fact that they're doing something else in the first place, it's the fact that they're both (primarily haley tho) so flippant about the fact that higher education is a crucial and necessary part of so many peoples' lives. they act as if one can just choose what they want to do and make a decision based on what makes them the most happy rather than factoring in so many important other things, like financial status. ryan and haley can do what they want and choose to ignore comments regarding their own way of life, but when they blatantly disregard good faith criticism telling them they shouldn't be telling people 'just do what you want' and practically advertising and promoting not going to college, that's when the line should be drawn.
@NomNomGirl1
@NomNomGirl1 4 жыл бұрын
abbu babu schooling isn't necessary but education 100% is. You see all these celebrities who claim to be scammed from bad business deals but in reality they didn't read the fine print. Even Kanye West is now complaining about bad business deals he made because he wasn't educated.

It’s SO concerning to see how she’s surrounded by yes men which is why she can’t take constructive criticism. All the false info she was spreading during her podcast and lily would just say “yeah that’s true” and “yes I heard that too” is why she doesn’t try and educate herself and it hurts her audience. Getting married, purchasing a home, and having sex without proper birth control are VERY big steps. They aren’t just “haha yolo” fun things to do. They are serious decisions with serious consequences. 2 broken immature people should NOT have children period. they are not ready to raise another human being!!!!!!!!
@CALLMEKAFOI
@CALLMEKAFOI 4 жыл бұрын
Sam Nguyen Why are we assuming they are broken just because they come from “broken homes”? We don’t know the healing they’ve undertaken or how their upbringing has even influenced their relationship for that matter. I think it’s a little cruel to deny people who don’t come from nuclear families the chance to start and enjoy their own :/
@samnguyen5508
@samnguyen5508 4 жыл бұрын
d People from “nuclear” families can have kids AFTER therapy, and/or actual maturity. You aren’t mature cuz u can pay a mortgage bill :/ She can’t even say “penis” or “sex” lmao you think that lil girl is ready to raise a baby? If you can’t figure out birth control thats on you but she is endangering a lot of other lil girls who might fucking get pregnant!!! And she might get pregnant too!! that’s dangerous af. Kids aren’t fun lil toys you can have with no consequences. Kids will eventually be adults. You are making a life. Kids will NOT heal you or your problems. That’s selfish as fuck to think. And it is outrageously irresponsible to make FALSE claims about birth control (ie: u can only get pregnant 6 days out the month). Most people are not ready to start a family and Haley/Ryan are on the farthest end of not ready. They are both young and immature still so I do pray that they really don’t have kids. I pray that somehow she does not get pregnant. I would not even be surprised if they had a kid to keep the views coming in 🤦🏻‍♀️

Alicia Grimes Despite being taught to speak love, we are also taught to shed light on the truth and God’s word, which you can better understand by reading the gospel. Christianity definitely isn’t about “love and acceptance” but more so serving, praising, and telling others of our God. We can’t pretend to turn a blind eye to many sins and be all about acceptance, which is being more worldly and Christian.

@@danafradi8607 I can sympathize with people with higher anxiety levels, don't get me wrong. But, not only is she hurting him by not even being able to hold his hand, especially when basic affection like that seems to be the only physical and intimate contact that the relationship gets, but she is majorly contradicting herself. You cannot be mature and an adult if you cannot listen and empathize with your partners needs too. Christain or not, that is very childish. Also, it's incredibly phony that you rebrand yourself and your content to being a future wife, when you cannot even give someone a kiss on the cheek in public. You cannot make a point on the internet by deleting comments online that are not hate, but legit critiques. You cannot say that people are projecting themselves into your relationship, when you are establishing a personality on social media as someone else.

@SplitDecision I'm not going to debate with someone who thinks 1. I was insulting them by critiquing a flaw they fail to realize, which is what the video is about, proving to me that you didn't watch it or comprehend, and 2. Someone who thinks "make ya face make sense," is an insult. I will leave with this. My comment, and this video, is pointing out the fact that those "kids" think they're adults, and are possibly making huge mistakes financially as well as mistakes that might harm them mentally and emotionally in the future. None of this was hate, I was a fan of Haley up until a year ago, when I noticed her personality was lacking and quickly becoming selfish and recycled. Seeing her decline and become so arrogant is heartbreaking. The fact that you portrayed my comment to be out of malice, without failing to understand my point, proves your character to me instantly.

Talking about how mature you are is the last thing a mature person talks about. It’s like Haley is constantly trying to convince herself. From what I’ve seen of Ryan, he has a very calm and seemingly mature presence. (Though I’m not actually sure of who/how he is.) Hayley seems to have a young soul, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but she’s always fighting it back. You can see this very clearly in the videos before her Greece video where she has a video about dressing like a boss /being a lady boss or something. She’s like a child playing dress up/ house. The maturity she so desperately attempts to portray only makes her seem more childish.

I really don’t care if Haley or Ryan watch this, but I do hope their fans give this video a chance so as to unlearn some of the problematic life and medical lessons they teach on their platform. I played this video as background noise, but around halfway through, I was hooked. Even as a 25 year old woman, I learned something new. It’s also so obvious that these two are basically playing house and it’s really hard to hear them talk about life as if they have the perspective and experiences of a couple so much older. A mature 19 year old is still a 19 year old. Being an adult is far less glamorous than they make it seem and it’s honestly a privilege for them to decide they’re not kids anymore when some people don’t get that choice.

I understand that university is not for everyone and especially in the US, it is a giant financial burden (tertiary education in my country is very cheap in comparison) but I have to say that it really irks me how incredibly naive and flippant their views on higher education have been. They obviously have differing circumstances from most people so it makes sense to a degree. But what they fail to realise is that institutions like universities offer spaces for massive personal growth to occur, and that is something that has been immensely life-changing to myself personally. Like I said, it’s not for everybody, but what they fail to see is that sometimes it’s not about the content that you are learning in your specific vocation, but about leaving your high school circle and mindset, interacting with different kinds of people, and learning different ways to think about things and approach life. These are also things that can come with age and life experience. It is entirely frustrating to witness people saying “we skipped that step” as if life is just a series of instructions that need to be carried out. You’ve hit the nail on the head when you said that maturity comes with life experience and until you actually experience it, there is no short cut to getting there. I think these views can warp the way that their viewers see things and it can potentially be harmful to them. I really do hope that they take some time for some introspection and don’t see it as something negative but a way to be better people. I don’t think they’re bad people. It would be wonderful to see them understand that people aren’t always criticising them out of hatred or jealousy, but that they genuinely want to help. I hope that they take your advice and press pause.

@ellen8421 4 жыл бұрын
This is such a good point! The idea of learning for purposes of introspection, personal growth, genuine understanding of perspectives, and critical reflection cannot thrive under pervasive neoliberalism in the US that equates human value to economic output. I think that Haley and Ryan's rejection of higher education, when viewed with the lens of neoliberalism (capitalism), implicitly communicates that they do not "need" an education because they already are "successful" (financially). While Haley and Ryan's views on education embody deeply rooted problems in American education, Haley and Ryan also have those views because they did not learn to think any other way within the existing education system. Essentially, education in the US is more often seen as valuable because of its prospects for economic gain ("go to college to make more money"). Without a systematic economic and educational reform (i.e. low cost higher education) people will always have to weigh wealth as a component when considering if education is "worth it." I wonder if Haley and Ryan would have the same views about college if they went to school in a country (i.e. Sweden, UK) that didn't intimately entangle learning with finances. It's sad, but also expected, that they are unknowingly perpetuating this paradigm to impressionable viewers; they don't need college or can "skip that step" because they're already "settled" and "successful" adults. Education should be a process that involves critical reflection, communication, and inspires life-long learning, but unfortunately, Americans aren't set up to think of it as such because of the price of education, imposed quantitative measures of student aptitude, monetary opportunity cost, etc.

One of my best friends is christian and she told me it’s pretty common for christian kids to get married super young because they want to be able to have sex and for it to not be a “sin” as it would be if it was premarital sex. I bet that’s playing into part of all this too, Ryan and Haley are both young and are feeling sexual urges just as most people their age do, but due to being christian they can’t act on it without “sinning” so they’ve found a way around it by getting married young, which unfortunately again shows they’re not mature enough for a huge life decision like that

Yes, so true. I am a christian and it's true what your friend says about many christian young adults marrying very early; I've seen it in my specific community various times and it doesn't end well sometimes. My biggest problem about them getting married is that their relationship seems so backwards. So if they're supposedly good christians, shouldn't they get married first and then move in together?? A lot of people (edit: specifically non-believers) move in together when they're not married and that's because it's a decision they've made to move forward in their relationship because they love each other. But the fact that they're getting married BECAUSE they bought a house sounds more obligatory to them being legally stuck with each other through a mortgage contract RATHER than getting married for the sake of love and marriage itself. Does that make sense to anyone??

Some young Christians are like that. But a lot of Christians are really raised with the idea of getting married and having kids and the specialness and forever partner and sharing a relationship with God and being one together is how it works. Now I am a Christian so don’t mind my next statements. I believe that you aren’t promised a spouse or forever partner (it’s a very popular conversation with young Christians). But, a lot of people close to God feel that it’s time for them. And it tends to work. My cousins are now married in the middle of college, and they’re living in a nice fulfilling way for them. Also young Christian couples go to pre marital counseling most of the time So they get prepared for the marriage ahead of time and walk through engagement slowly. Sarah Dude you’d have to watch the video but I’m referring to the part where she is talking about her wedding night , she’s wearing a pink sweater. For context, she says that she considers the opinions of people who are close to her and know Ryan and her in person, but not of the people in the comment sections. She said they’re all irrelevant or something along those lines. I understand her rationale as it would be emotionally taxing to try to please everyone, but to generalize all of the comments as irrelevant was a sign of immaturity because sometimes we should at least consider outside comments

It's interesting too that Ryan wasn't religious before Haley so kind of seems like he liked Haley and she told him how she wanted things in the relationship to go according to christianity and Ryan just went with it because he was excited to be in his first relationship. They don't seem to follow any other Christian principles just the sex before marriage thing so I wonder how Haley's identity is going to collapse even more after she loses this virginity complex. If you watch Aspen Ovard she got married at 20 and now 5 years later her and her husband made a video and said they don't regret anything but looking back they believe they were way too young and shouldn't have gotten married then.

Here after finding out Ryan doxxed you. Haley only reading the good comments proving further that she is locked in an echo chamber. And Yerrow trying to paint you as some kind of stalker and then deflecting every valid criticism by posting a story saying "cancel culture sucks" as if that's what you were trying to do. I used to watch and like Ryan a lot. But after her relationship with Haley I stopped because they started to left a weird feel in my mouth. This video put it into words. Honestly seeing their responses made me really sad. And also, you can see that this comment sections is filled with fans or former fans who agree with all the points made throught the video. How can they be so clueless by dismissing what their actual audience has been observing from the past years. Are we all just "stalkers" to them?

i came from ryan's instagram story and i can see why he is upset about this video, but at the same time, i agree with a lot of the points made in this video. i have always been skeptical of the longevity of their relationship. i am fully aware it is none of my business, but i know a lot of people who got engaged quickly and it was either called off or divorced later because of rushing into a relationship. i understand that method works for a lot of couples, but the fact that they had known each other for mere months, barely as friends, before starting to date, then knowing they wanted to marry within three months of beginning to date, is alarming to me. i used to watch her content all the time when i was younger. she''s only a year older than i am, and i used to find her relatable. i'm in college now, working really hard towards a degree i feel i can remain passionate about, and it has shocked me how out of touch with the "non-influencer" reality she has gone. i used to relate with her struggles of high school and the embarrassing stories she used to tell, but i no longer watch her content because i cannot relate to her at all. i barely have any money as it is, but she is already engaged, getting married, already bought a house all at 19. i don't even think i'm going to even think about buying a house until i'm in my late 20s just because of my journey. i understand that the pressures in her life has made her life difficult in a way, there are new pressures of supporting herself, her mortgage, and her mom, but i honestly feel like she brought a lot of that upon herself. her lack of accountability is so frustrating as well. everyone in her life praises her humbleness, but the people around her ARE people who are on the same pathway as she is. she isn't the humble person she used to be. she's a new version of humble... but i don't see that as a good thing. i do believe her lack of accountability is going to be really damaging not only to her, but her younger audience as well. her lack of sexual education is... well... frightening. i can't say i'm an expert, after all i am an 18 year old virgin, but her hesitance to talk about anything remotely sexual is a little jarring. she was open about her "experience" with birth control, if you can even call it that, but she can't even say the word "sex" half the time. the reason, ryan and haley, if you are reading this comment, that people are so concerned about you as people, is because of the way you portray yourselves online. a lot of haley's fan base have been with her for years, when she was still in high school trying to balance school, dance, and religion. because of this, these same fans, who are often younger, still in high school, probably feel like there is a new pressure to find somebody to marry, buy a house stupid young without knowing the consequences, and start a life before even completing their childhood fully. the human brain does not stop growing until around 24-26, so there is still a lot of maturity lacking. haley always voices how she can just go to college at any time, but she didn't even graduate high school in the first place. i don't even think she completed the first semester of her senior year. if she wants to go to college, she would have to retake that entire year. i don't think she understands that college isn't some minor thing that you can just "do" whenever. it takes a lot of commitment, and because of her dropping out, she is already further behind. a college is a lot more likely to take an incoming freshman with decent grades and completed high school on time than a 20 something high school dropout who probably decided to go to college because they realized the path they took is not sustainable for as long as they thought. while i do think this video is a little harsh, and it may have been a little over critical since they are so young, i do think there is a lot of merit of what is being discussed here. they are constantly saying how "mature" they are about the decisions they are making, that it took a lot of thought and planning, but a lot of their decisions seem impulsive. maturity isn't just intelligence, it has a lot of other things involved as well, like being smart about mortgages and budgeting, maintaining a good credit score, making smart decisions, weighing risk vs. reward when it comes to doing something risky, like with a new business venture. though impulsive decisions could be beneficial in the short run, they don't really help in the long term. i've already learned that the hard way, but it seems like they are doing too many things to even think about past regrets or decisions. they are living life so quickly that i'm afraid (for them) that it's going to be pretty much "done" by the time they're 50. the point of life is to enjoy what you have now, enjoy your childhood. nobody is saying you have to rush into adulthood the moment you turn 18, and i think that that is a notion they are unintentionally promoting. i'm going to say it right now, though i hope and don't think they will end up getting divorced, i quite frankly will not be surprised if it happens. they have made their lives an open book now, for the most part, not a lot of stuff is private anymore, which is why a lot of youtube relationships fail. though it may be weird to heavily criticize or analyze the relationship of a 19 and 21 year old, people have a right to their opinion, and a lot of times, people will notice things about you that you and the others around you won't notice. though you don't have to take the advice of your audience, discrediting them without even taking a second to think about the merit of their claims is irresponsible, possibly dehumanizing, and upright disrespectful. by saying that you "don't care" about the opinions of your viewers kinda gives the impression that you don't care about them to begin with, and you don't care about how your actions may be affecting your own viewers. it's messy, irresponsible, and narcissistic (in a way) and i do hope that (after they cope with the loss of their loved one, i am so sorry for their loss) they make a video addressing these claims, and how they plan on changing for the better. there is still a lot of accountability to be taken here, and i think avoiding this full term is not the way to go. ryan did address this on his instagram story, but it was only 3 minutes what will only exist for 24 hours. it is not going to reach everybody. i hope that haley will actually watch the video after she feels better mentally, because i think she, of all people, needs to see this more than anybody. though it is difficult seeing somebody dig into your character this hard, if so many people are agreeing with the statements being said in the video, then it is time to reflect and take time to think about the legitimacy of the claims. all of the evidence used in this video is all public knowledge and primary sources, as stated in the beginning of the video, so it is impossible to dispute that any of the claims made about the past, but if SPV is wrong about any of the analyzations made in the video, i think that those disputes should be made public. ryan said in his instagram story that the analyzations of their characters is not true to how they are today, but i haven't personally noticed any growth or newfound accountability being taken by either of them. i don't want them to just say that they've changed or they have grown from their mistakes, i want them to show it. apologies aren't just for tell, and they are useless if you aren't going to pay attention to it after it's published and forget about it. the point of apologies is to take accountability for wrong judgements or actions, and to take the mistakes and grow from them, do better to not make another mistake like that, or do better to not make mistakes of the same vain in the future. the problem with haley is that she continues to show no growth between her past mistakes and now, and though the situations vary drastically, they all hold a similar tone. i really do have some faith in them (as much as i can since i am atheist) that they can be amazing people and promote goodness to their viewers, but i don't know how much longer to prove that they can hold that level of responsibility before their reputations are forever tarnished.

They seem so obsessed with how there is "no instruction manual for life" yet cite all their so called maturity to "skipping steps" and justify their marriage because that's what people who own houses together do. Its also just so embarrassing when they (specifically Haley) constantly feel the need to validate their entire lives- getting so angry and flustered shows, ironically, how immature she is! I came to this video from Ryan Trahan’s story expecting it to be a bad, hate video simply bashing them. But the way you articulated and executed your ideas truly put my thoughts about them into words. The thing that gets me the most about them is their lack of self awareness. It’s crazy how superficial the both of them have become within the past years. I really do hope the best for them, and at the end of day, it’s their life and they have the right to live it as they please. But a lot of their criticism is from people who are genuinely concerned for them, and want to see the both of them work out. I really do think that the both of them need to take a break from KZbin and social media, to be able to learn more about each other and grow. I hope that they learn from their mistakes and take this opportunity to grow as people, and I am really rooting for them.

ESPECIALLY for people that have managed to surround themselves with yes-men, but I really wish more people, not just them but a lot of youtubers and celebs would realize that criticism is not necessarily a bad thing. Like they need to think a bit more critically instead of reducing all criticism to hate and jealousy. They need to develop the keenness that allows them to discern constructive criticism from actual hate and rude comments. Like the comment about Haley's lack of awareness during this time which was SO respectful (and it really didn't have to be) and the fact that Ryan said to 'be more kind'???? Like what does it for me is the belief that in terms of morals and maturity they are superior to most people their age, and it's just frustrating to watch and to know that they have such a young and impressionable audience... why do they need to get married so young? cant they just stay as lovers and make youtube videos? there is no need to rush or hurry to get married. dont get me wrong i think having a family is amazing but their thinking is simple, they clearly have not struggled in life. and also, buying that 1.5 million $ house was a big mistake. they were making good quality youtube videos back in their old homes with much smaller spaces. what ryan and haley should do now is, cancel their marriage and continue to focus on their relationship, there is no need to rush or settle down quickly, they are taking life way too fast because they got rich way too fast of the youtube money. they still have all the time in the world, mid 20s to do so. they should continue to post youtube videos and content but not around their marriage and house hunting videos, because their yt comment section is full of positive comments that just boosts their egos to thinking that they are making the right decisions. It is extremely dangerous for them. this video is a reality check and a harsh video i hope their mental powers are strong enough to deal with this. They obviously love each other, they already live together happily, and they are financially stable. I don’t see how they aren’t ready. I don’t see what type of maturity they need??

@@erickaconklin1538 I know some couples who get married young like 17, 18 and have a long lasting marriage and also couples who married young but also failed in their marriage later. But you are living a simple life with your fiance, this couple Ryan and haley is an engaged couple on youtube, their whole lives in career is on youtube. Their lives are far more complicated than other young married couples. So you cannot compare ryan and haley to other normal young married couples. The truth is, we don't know if their marriage is going to be successful in the future, they might be in love now but who knows? only time will tell. For the maturity level, haley speaking of the greece situation clearly tells us that she has not faced reality of life. Haley just responded from this situation that this video does not reflect her anymore. She is missing the whole point of this video. Also, their behaviour on camera, has some huge red flags. Haley hasn't fully grown, formed, or experienced enough. So does Ryan, they have been together for only 1 year. Maturity level is IMPORTANT for marriage to survive in the long run. They clearly aren't, Haley said that waiting for marriage is hard?? They both did not anticipate the responsibility. Secondly, the reason why they are rushing to get married is because they got rich way too quickly in a span of 2 years. That's why they are settling down for a big $1.5 million dollar home and a family. I guarantee if one day they got broke or in debt, they are most probably going to divorce. Trust me. KZbin career was never financially stable, even though their channels might be blowing up now, and they are living off well, who knows in 2 years time their channels do not fit in the algorithm anymore? Affecting hugely from their income since most of their income is from youtube. Plus they have to pay off mortgage from their $1.5 million dollar home. Also, if they focus on youtube career a lot, they might affect their married life and eventually get a divorce. I have seen a youtuber couple who were married for 10 years, but they were too focused on their business, they prioritise work over love all the time just to make a youtube video or their business, Thus a downward spiral affecting their marriage. As shown in this video, divorce rates are high for younger couples who get married, nobody can tell if Ryan and haley will still be together after a few years, What i am saying is, once you get married, there is no turning back. They can't avoid pitfalls from their own marriage.

we brats lol yall are too invested. they have more to their career than youtube. and even if their lives fail, i’m sure they won’t regret getting married young. it will be difficult for them to get too invested in a business and then get divorced, because they are taking steps to build a career together (like house flipping) which will strengthen their relationship. i just cant comprehend why it matters so much to all of these people. they are going to get married, they are going to continue their careers, and i truly think they are mature enough to work through it. i’ll let you continue to judge and doubt them though

literally am rewatching this video two years later bc of all the information on buying a house bc it was so in depth. ik this guy got a lot of hate but as someone who’s ryan and haley’s age and is entering into more serious relationships it is a video that is very insightful and asks questions i think a lot of people in their early twenties should ask themselves. while i agree it is very parasocial and their personal lives are none of our business. i certainly don’t agree with the point of making a video like this. however it really did teach some great lessons on stuff

“people used to get married back in the day at the age of 13” yeah in the 1700s when the quality of living and average age of death were *significantly* lower than they are now. furthermore, the majority of these marriages were arranged and a young girl was forced to marry an older man in order for her family to gain prestige and respect. the fact that she uses that to *justify* her getting married now illustrates her ignorance and mis-information on the topic also, completely unrelated but what if they don’t vibe in the bedroom??

I married young. My husband and I were 19 and 18 respectively and we were both Christians. I would not recommend it to anyone. Marriage makes relationships harder, even if you think that it will stay the same, it wont. And no matter how mature you think you are at that age, you just are not ready for it. My husband and I are still together, neither of us are christian any more which probably saved our relationship. We had to go through so much more hardship than if we had waited.

I was older than you at 22 getting married and it’s interesting that having God at the center of our relationship makes us stronger. I wish they weren’t trying to prove themselves to everyone instead of just living, knowing that God loves you no matter what- if you wait or not, which I hate how she may make girls who have sex feel like less or not as “sweet” or “wholesome”. I didn’t feel those things more before I had sex and didn’t lose that after I did. I am glad I waited to be more away from “church people” so I could be married before I was “Christian married” (meaning I didn’t wait to move in, combine finances, and overlap our love before the wedding ceremony). That’s how we saw how we’d work together. I’m sorry if you felt so rushed and too young, but I know God works all things for good

i’ve always liked haley but the recent phase of house flipping has really bothered me ): it’s sad because i don’t think they realize (or care) that rich people that buy up cheap houses are the reason it’s hard for low income families to get affordable housing... it also has kind of bothered me that their whole concept of interior design and house flipping has just been copying chip and joanna gains and using products from the magnolia collection at target. i also like chip and joanna gains but... idk that situation just seems super not okay to me. i also listened to the birth control episode of the podcast and it really bothered me as well. i feel like she started birth control and two weeks later she thought she was an expert on how it affects you and what the options are when she really didn’t educate herself at all and hadn’t been on it long enough to even know anything about the side affects. very sad ):

As a dutch teenage girl, I think I can speak for Western Europe; NFP is not popular here when it comes to birth control, the pill is the most used method of birth control (especially because its free till 21 in a lot of countries). NFP is actually seen as very risky here, and is discouraged greatly.

@@soph8402 that's not true. people have always lived long lives (although the life span has increased - from late 60s to mid 80s), the reason the average life span was considered so short was because of the high infant mortality rate. if you survived childhood, your chances of dying old were greatly increased. getting married at 13 is fucking weird no matter what and was very often forced onto young girls who would then be raped and forced to have children.
