Agreed, Kate Kane is an expert sniper, that was established is Season One. She only misses when she wants to. Also, Kate was an top-level officer candidate in the military. Are we supposed to be surprised she could take someone who has martial arts training, even on Ryan's level? However, I suspect Circe Sionis isn't as sound of mind and origin as she thinks she is-note she says what's left of Kate Kane "Couldn't beat her". Enigma did a very good job of reprogramming Kate, to the point she'd take pot shots at Sophie and her sister, but none of them are DEAD-a key point. I suspect what we are seeing is really another level of torture, Kate being forced to watch herself do terrible things with somebody else, a psychotic homicidal psychopath, in the drivers seat-just like Beth/Alice. Safiya holds the leys to Kate Kane, I believe, I also suspect she intends to have Kate finally break Beth by forcing Beth to have to kill Kate to save Kate's friends. Beth wouldn't let them die, Alice would, so who is she after everything? Oh, a small drawback: I suspect Alice will LET Kate gut her rather than kill her, to Safiya's horror-and that will ultimately break "Circe" instead. The Desert Rose will save Alice's life, they'd never kill a character as good as Alice, but Kate Kane will NEVER be the sam after what she's been through, what she did...

Kate is just a better fighter by far. She was the top of her military class for 4 years basically and then trained with some of the world’s best training and survival specialists for the next 5 years. And then she also was batwoman for around 1-2 years (definitely over a year but not sure if it would have been two years or more before she was kidnapped). And her dad may have slightly trained her to defend herself as he was the commander of a private security agency that was supposed to be like the cops but better. Kate just has more experience and fighting skills entirely.

You are absolutely right. I love walis day as kate kane. I never had much interest in the first season until javica aka Ryan wilder became the new batwoman and this altered kate came on the show. Like how legends of tommorrow struggled with the first season and finally found its footing in season 2 I would say the same goes with batwoman. Kate and Ryan seem to be the glue of the series to me. I hope they keep walis day on as kate and have kate kane keep the mantle as batwoman and continue to have Ryan stay but this time she can take up the mantle of batwoman. So now we would have fox as nightwing, kate as batwoman and Ryan as Batgirl why soaphie remain in the batcave to monitor everything. Alice could also join the team. It would be a epic season finale!!

@@montielina I think ruby rose did a wonderful job as batwoman, I would never want to discredit that. Season 2 should have ended with walis day continuing on as batwoman but this time having the character Ryan aka the new batwoman take on the mantle of Batgirl. We already would have batwing. Would have made a awesome bat team. Instead of Kate's father going to prison, he could have been the one going off to find Bruce. It just seems like a wasted opportunity. What brings fans in is keeping keeping us on the edge of our seats. 1- Kate is dead 2- Kate is actually alive but disfigured due to the plane crash. 3 - Kate is being held captive 4- black mask brainwashes her to think she is his twisted murderous daughter. 5- Alice is being held captive so she can make a skin tissue face for Kate with Alice not knowing who she is until she looked in her eyes. The scene where Alice jumped in the river to save her sister and the two reunited in that type of prison that was in Kate's mind was incredibly beautiful. We got to see a different side to Alice. She would have also made a fantastic addition to the bat team. Still have that same attitude that Alice always has , even would go against the bat team here and there as being good would be a huge adjustment for her. Instead Kate leaves at the end of season 2. Alice goes to arkum , the dad goes to prison. Ryan's character could have started as a enemy that Kate once fought and now the character is on a road to redemption thus becoming batwoman. It would have made perfect sense.

I really think the show has found its footing not just with Ryan as batwoman but with also bringing this recast kate back in with a twist. Kate and Ryan as batwoman and Batgirl and fox as nightwing and bane as the villian for season three but don't screw it up writers. Make bane as menacing as possible!

@Jack Saat yeah that part of the story always annoyed me Batman would never leave Gotham unprotected unless he was held prisoner by one of his enemies and even then to leave without letting Luke know where’d he gone seems a bit of a plot hole in that story. The way they set it up is that Batman just dipped which makes him look cowardly and irresponsible which not a good way to portray one of DC’s greatest heroes.

Of course they were going to have her lose to Kate in this fight scene…….Ryan did exactly what anyone else would do if they “weren’t” trying to fight someone they cared about. I don’t care if Kate has more training than Ryan does or not. Throughout this whole season, Ryan has proven to be a true hero. Ryans entry to becoming the bat was more deserving than that of Kates who was only searching for Bruce (at the time) and just happen to stumble across the bat cave versus Ryan who truly wanted and deserved justice for her mom and then was hit with an urge/purpose to keep fighting for others…She didn’t go looking for the bat suit, it literally fell out of the sky and found her….Let’s not forget the fact that she chose not to kill Alice when she had the chance….that’s major growth!!! Anyways….The real match is going down in the season finale and Kate won’t be the winner. That’s all that matters💁🏾

Exactly!!! People have been hating on Ryan since the season started. I love Ryan as batwoman. She has shown way more growth on the show in just this season alone than any of the other characters have with the exception of Alice throughout the both seasons thus far💁🏾 I honestly don’t think Ryan was trying to fight Kate. I personally think she held back and that won’t happen in the season finally if they fail to save Kate!
