The slats are been used, they're just not fully extended. You can see them extend at 3:50 and retract at 7:40.

The engine are GE CFM56-7Bs. Not rolls royce!!!! The GE variant is the only available fore the 737NG series.

all engines "buzz" it's whether you're sat infrnt of the turbines or not, it's caused by the fans breaking the sounds barrier as they spin so fast
