Recently I begun making a rocky planet in Blender and was lamenting over the fact that there are not many procedural tutorials for that. Then you swoop down and do just that, so thank you!

Your tutorials are easy to follow and cover more than just the basic information required to complete the project. I used several of your Material tutorials along with the Worker Robot tutorial to create my own version of the Robot animation.

as a Blender noob. I'd really like a tutorial on how you set up your scene before you get going into procedural texture building. Its so easy to follow along with these but my scene never looks like yours. Would love to start from a place where I knew we were both set up the same. Again. I'm super new to Blender.

Wowwww this texture looks amazing! And it's slowing down my computer like crazy, I am on my workstation PC optimized for huge Photoshop files, I can't figure out which part is slowing things down. Any tips? Been using Blender for a month
@RyanKingArt
@RyanKingArt 2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, are you using Blender Eevee? Eeevee is kinda laggy for complex procedural materials. I have a pretty powerful PC, but this is kinda laggy in the viewport in Eevee for my computer. I would recommend using cycles. Other then that, I'm not sure. Are you rendering on CPU, or GPU?

Now if only I could get the mountains to actually affect the vertices in Blender... cos I'm lookign to create highly stylised planets, and this material is awesome for it (ty very much, btw!), but I want it to affect the planet's polygons, as well. Any ideas?
@RyanKingArt
@RyanKingArt Жыл бұрын
You could add a noise texture into the displacement to make it more bumpy like a mountain. thanks for watching!

@RyanKingArt
@RyanKingArt 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is pretty detailed. Also it seems to be more laggy in Eevee, so I prefer to use cycles for this.

@RyanKingArt
@RyanKingArt 2 жыл бұрын
Well, it is a pretty detailed material, so yes, it might be a bit laggy. Although, are you using Blender Eevee? I find that it actually works better in Cycles, and is less laggy.

What do you mean by saving it? You can save the Blender file on your computer, and then append it into Blender files to use in your projects. Also, in Blender 3.0, there is this cool new Asset Library feature. I am planning on making a tutorial on how to use it soon.
