Good thing I have a Frankie with a D-Tuna that's always a half step down already! Drop C#. is also the tuning for "Beer never Broke my heart" 😂

Yes tuning down is definitely worth it . And very easy if you are tone def like me and use a clip on tuner

one should always use a tuner regardless of level of tone-deaf-ness. I hope everyone who watched this video IS tone deaf though because the SG needs to get it's intonation checked and the notes on the higher frets were horribly out of tune... (but don't tell anyone hehe)

Nice lesson, I was told that if a guitar is intimated for standard tuning that dropping really low will actually be a little out of tune. Is this true?

@@RyanLendt no, I'm gonna blame the guy that made the experience more difficult. It doesn't become a whole different song just because we're playing it a half step up from the original key. You can say at the beginning "hey, if you want to play along with the CD, it's Drop D down a half step, but for the sake of ease we're using regular Drop D" Judging from all of your videos I've seen I'm guessing you're a cool guy, nice, easy to get along with, but you have to understand and realize that your response to my question is VERY DOUCHEY. I can do a No Excuses lesson and go "Hey, I'm in standard because I just plain don't feel like dropping my guitar down, but to play along with any of Jerry's performances you're gonna have to drop every string down a semitone." Most people aren't gonna go through the effort of dropping EVERY string and you have to understand that.
