Quick free fix on a clapped out YZ125 kick starter mechanism

This yz125 kick starter was very lazy and needed replacing. I was able to drill the spring retaining hole all the way through and make it work... for now.

Bro that cover is so hard to fit back in took me Like 30 min then the kick start slipped cause I was hitting it and I had to take it back out I gave up now I’m trying again tomorrow

@@fvcctheoppssglttt6777 I'm sure you're way past this, but the little plastic sleeve gets hung up on the spring sometimes. You may need to rotate it to get it to seat completely. (this comment may help others if they read it. )

The Old Elk is a type of top secret race fuel you don't need to know about. It really takes things to another level when you use at least half the bottle. Lol.

Sweet man I have this same problem and the right side case is off my bike anyway I’m gonna give it a shot mine currently falls forward and hits the exhaust pipe do you have any idea why it’s doing that? Thank You!

I would need pictures to understand what you mean. It sounds similar to mine as it doesn't have enough spring tension to hold it back.

could anyone know it is kick starter shaft from dt 125 fit to yz 125 1999? Mine is broken and it cannot be weld cause its ripped off on cutters. In Poland they are few but uncomplete and they cost like 120 $ I dont know what to do

I would find a used part off ebay. Partzilla.com will show you all applicable fitments on a certain part if you click on the part number, for your reference of interchangeable parts.

@@dirty2stroke_tv990 yeah brotha no problem! Drain the coolant and oil and pull off your right side (inner clutch) cover. You might need to take off the clutch assembly. Then, grab the Kickstart mechanism and make it all happen. You can handle it.
