Despite being an idiot Gavin is surprisingly observant, in fact many of the dumb things he says are very deep observations. He's almost like a child, he sees that water's solid form (ice) floats on its liquid form and wonders if other compounds do the same, but instead of asking something scientific he says "does rocks float on lava?" Combine that with his excellent camera angle skills and literally everything getting filmed all the time at RT and he can easily pick up when he's getting pranked, figure out the best possible angles to film the prank, and then spot the hidden cameras right where he predicted they would be.

John Francis Doe technically it's called honeycomb panelling. It has 2 thick card stock surfaces with a cardboard honeycomb core glued together, it's very strong when you try to compress it on any of the 3 surfaces. But it's very brittle if you try to bend it, like an axe kick or bouncing on it would. That's why these kind of ikea tables have a weight limit, they aren't meant for high force. Timestamp 9:58.
