The first guitar solo was by Leda (Leda Cygnus) who also put the framework for the solos together and as a song is titled Mischief(s) of the Metal Gods. He has done other arranging work for Babymetal. Also, the only known kamiband member to have played on studio tracks. Second solo (gold guitar) was Ohmura Takayoshi. And, of course, BOH on Bass. The drummer was Hideki Aoyama. As much as I love the others, this is my favorite of the Su-metal solo songs, and my favorite of the performances of it. The staging is fantastic.

LEDA played the bass on a few BABYMETAL album tracks IIRC. And also has writing credits for a few songs like Arkadia. He hasn't been performed as a guitarist in their live shows recently, and maybe doesn't have the showmanship of someone like Ohmura, but LEDA has a played a huge role in BABYMETAL.

Great reaction, thanks! I remember you not being so sure about BABYMETAL and I see you totally in now, that's so cool! I'm a sucker for bass and drums solos... and don't know exactly why... probably because they are not supposed to do that. Hideki is a beast on the drums. You don't usually see him stressed and no matter how fast and challenging the song is. You can tell it's hard when you see he's super focused (like in "Amore"). The instrumental intro song is called "Mischiefs of Metal Gods" and every Kami Band member has their turn to show off their skills. Just to summon the Queen who finally emerges from Hell... well, at least from the bottom of the stage hehe... "Rondo of Nightmare" is probably their darkest song lyrically. It's about Su being trapped into an endless nightmare, without any chance to escape, and she's chased by a dark entity as she tries to run away and hide from. Finally she gives up and ask the entity to show its real nature. This was just the second time they performed it live (the first one was just the previous day at the same venue) and Su-metal, being 16 at the time, was standing by herself on a tiny high platform, without any safety and probably not being able so see a thing due the spotlight. In a word: awesome. And one of the reasons why she's called the Queen. Until next time!

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。Kamis' (=Gods') super solos were excellent enough as a main event in the show, but once the 16-year-old Queen (as of 2014) emerged from the underground, she colored everything differently with her piercing voice then turned Kami Band's plays into a ritual to summon her. How many times we should go through waves in this song? Billows, ripples and rollers.

⚡ / 🔥 😱 🔥 This performance is my standard answer to anyone who says that BABYMETAL aren't really metal. : ) It's already epic, and THEN Su rises up from beneath the stage. This song had it's world premiere the previous night. The 'Mischief of the Metal Gods' instrumental often precedes 'Rondo of Nightmare', but not always. This was the Black Night at Budokan in 2014, with Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars and Hideki Aoyama on drums. And of course BOH on bass. Not that many people play a six stringed bass to begin with, let alone tap one like that. Su sang three solo songs that night. She did 'No Rain, No Rainbow', followed by 'Akatsuki' earlier in the set. I already liked BABYMETAL, but those solo songs made me a die hard fan. Dancing on a small platform raised in the air demonstrates courage. Following up an introduction where each Kami Band member shows off their skills with a solo, shows total fearlessness. : )

Rondo Of Nightmare/With Mischief Of God Intro:- Babymetal:- Babymetal (Japanese: ベビーメタル, Hepburn: Bebīmetaru) (stylized in all caps) is a Japanese kawaii metal band. The band consists of Suzuka Nakamoto as "Su-metal" (Vocal and Dance) and Moa Kikuchi as "Moametal" (Scream and Dance). The band is produced by Kobametal from the Amuse talent agency. Their vocals are backed by heavy metal instrumentation, performed by a group of session musicians known as the "Kami Band" at performances. KamiBand:- "The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL". Current Members Who Perform At Nippon Budokan:- •Takayoshi Ohmura (Guitar, ESP SNAPPER-7/R Gold & Twinkle Pink). •Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLUE CUSTOM). •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6). •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature Drum Kit). BABYMETAL is the youngest act to perform at the Budokan and artists need to be invited to perform there. Live at Budokan: Red Night & Black Night Apocalypse (stylized as LIVE AT BUDOKAN ~RED NIGHT & BLACK NIGHT APOCALYPSE~) is the third live video release by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. It contains two concerts performed at Nippon Budokan shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album, and was released on January 7, 2015 in a standard edition and a limited-edition box set exclusively for "The One" fanclub members. Nippon Budokan:- Nippon Budokan (日本武道館, Nippon Budōkan), often shortened to simply Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. Originally built for the inaugural Olympic judo competition in the 1964 Summer Olympics, its name translates as Martial Arts Hall in English. While its primary purpose is to host martial arts contests, the arena has gained additional fame as one of the world's most iconic musical performance venues. A number of famous rock music acts have played at Budokan. The Beatles were the first rock group to play there in a series of concerts held between June 30 and July 2, 1966. ABBA ended their last tour there. Their final show on March 27, 1980, was the last live concert ABBA performed together. Numerous acts have recorded live albums at Budokan, including Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Cheap Trick, Dream Theater, Duran Duran, Kiss, Mr. Big, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Journey and Deep Purple. I rewinded that part so many times after the first listen to this song. The shaking camera, that vocal line, the heavy instruments combined with the piano... Jesus. The song itself is about a nightmare you are trapped in, trying to run, but realizing it's inescapable. I don't know, the theme fits the vibe of the song so well, it only made me appreciate it more. She only expects it from herself, but those around her take their cue from her and that is why BabyMetal is and has been so awesomely good for the last 10 years.

GJ on the reaction. This was the first Su-metal solo song I heard. And WOW. That intro was awesome. Some of the Kamiband members play in a jazz project group called the Kariband. You can find some of their stuff on KZbin as well. When Kobametal (Babymetal's producer) got the guys together to be Babymetal's stage band, He did the world a favor. So much talent and skill in one place. And then Su comes up through the stage floor. And delivers an amazing performance at just above 16 years old. Babymetal liked to say we'll do are best and please support us. I think we can say they accomplished both. Su is a perfectionist and it has served her well. I'm sure she could fine a fault in the performance. The rest of us will just do as Su says "Don't Think, Feel". The song is one of Babymetal's darkest songs. It's about a terrifying recurring nightmare. She's getting chase by a creature she cannot see. The moon light only flashes the claws and fangs. She tries to hide but it finds her anyway. She then gives up and ask the creature if it would at least reveal itself. And then she falls into the darkness. That's some Nightmare on Elm Street craziness right there. They threw the Kawaii out the window on this song. And it still sounds like a Babymetal genre song. How do their composers do that?

RON is one of Su's solos and we'll just ignore the health and safety violation of being on a platform without a railing or harness...seriously the staging at Budokan is one of the few times I feel the need to criticize the professionalism of the BM organization. RON is a very dark song where Su is chased by something she cannot escape. The repetitive nature of a "rondo" makes this even more frightening and that's explicitly said in the lyrics. I think that the changing time signatures are there to make us feel uncomfortable and keep us off balance. The final chorus is as unsettling as the time signatures and offers no happy resolution: It flickers slowly appearing and disappearing in my mind. A nightmare rondo is being repeated. The awakening light is gone far away out of my sight. I can do nothing but fall into the darkness. I'm always reminded of "monsters from the id". Some reviewers mention that the song ends very abruptly and that it's hard to settle into...the lyrics imply that there's no hope of waking, but that's often what you feel when you are in a nightmare and then you wake as suddenly as the song finishes.

Yeah man, that's my favorite baby metal moment right there Unfortunately, since that show, the guitar player you liked so much tragically passed away, and one of the girls quit. I will always maintain they're a fabricated band and were better then than now. Especially since they started autotuning Su She doesn't need that shit. But yeah.. in it's essence, it's the best session musicians in Japan's metal scene, fronted by a vary capable vocalist. And a couple dancers I mean.. yes it's fabricated.. but what could go wrong with that mix? Especially a few years back.

Guitar player who died not in this video it was Mikio Fujioka . Leda and Ohmura where guitarists in this show . Yui took ill and left because she was unable to perform. Quiting sounds a bit negative i think she would of still being there if not for that ps they only autotune Su in BxMxC music video for effect and Kingslayer the same reason she does not use Autotune . Su sings live no autotune. 🤘🦊🤘.

@@martinmetal7481 Sorry, my mistake on the guitar player. OK Yui was unable to perform and called it quits. I agree that my wording was a bit strong. But yeah, that, right there, that show at the Budokan, That's my favorite version of Babymetal.

The Kami Band are music nerds. If you leave them alone all they play is jazz fusion and metal that is 90 percent solos.

Enjoyed this reaction sir. Looking forward to more of your reactions with these young ladies and their awesome band. They have evolved and matured and I believe that you will be impressed with the results. I have included what I think is a link to a very satisfying performance filmed up close and personal (great optics and sound quality) by a fan attending right in front. The Western Kami Band performs here. If you choose to watch I hope that you enjoy it. Kagerou Live kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2fHhqmOmLSmY5I

Some say Su uses her microphone's polar pattern to get the creepy effect when she has it against her lips and nose and has it the wrong way around. Others say it's only a mid-cut-filter in the sound engineer's mixing table. Of course the former theory is more appealing.

Su- did talk about learning to use the nasal resonance mic technique. But in this performance she has already pulled the mic out of position before the last note of the verse is finished. So, the only possible conclusion is the verse is on the backing track and she lipsyncs until nearly the end of it when she sets up to come back in live with the final chorus.

I can see you are starting to appreciate Babymetal more and more (Edit: sorry Ryan, this gets long haha). Babymetal's sound, performance and lyric changed all the way through their first ten years. In the very early days they sang songs to appeal to girls and boys their age to encourage them to listen to metal music. All their songs have always had lyrics that have been age appropriate and their costumes and dance depicting cuteness, professionalism and an element of danger. I feel that, early in their careers, this led many "metal" fans to deride them because they didn't fit the standard metal scene. And to be honest, they didn't. I can't think of any other metal band that had their first single in the charts when recorded by a 12yo in lead vocal supported by two 11yo backing singers and dancers. I believe this led to Babymetal being labelled as a gimmick. Which they could well have been if they had fallen over after their first one or two songs. However, they didn't. Babymetal now have a discography of over 50 songs if you count their own songs and colabs with some of the world's leading artists. Often metal fans will say that Babymetal isn't a real band because they were put together and not formed organically. This is true. However, Babymetal were not three preteen girls hanging out in their parent's garage, strumming guitars, thinking dark thoughts, sacrificing goats while deciding to form a heavy metal band ... of course they were put together. They were put together on the back of years of vocal, dance and theatrical/performance training. Babymetal was 'purpose built'. Sometimes metal fans will kick Babymetal for using backing tracks and accuse them of lip-synching. This is probably the most obvious and easy attack on Babymetal because they always played to a backing track in their early days without any live musicians. Why? Because, when they were starting out as a stand alone band from their production company who didn't fund them sufficiently. So scarce was money for the breakout Babymetal that Su, Moa and Yui had to borrow clothes to wear in their first video. There was little budget for the Babymetal project. However, their production company hired session muso's to record the backing tracks and Babymetal then sang and danced to those tracks at various places. Gradually, as Babymetal's popularity grew, they could afford to employ a live band to play the last few songs of a concert. The majority of their early concerts were performed to a backing track, with actors pretending that they were playing instruments to back them. This is where the Kami Band was formed with something of a rotating cast. To this day, most synth, echo, piano and random sound effects are on backing tracks. If Aoyama Hideki's job on drums isn't hard enough, in live performances (when it's not the Western Kami Band), Hideki sama is controlling all the backing tracks from the tablets he has on his drum kit. Hideki is the master of the live track and non-drum sound fills. Babymetal has sometimes been accused of lip-synching yet hardly ever do in live performances. A lot of the allegations come from the vision not quite matching the lyric in their videos. This is a fair call. However, it is more a result of post-production pushing a cleaned-up live performance over a compilation of performances. As such, there are moments of sound not matching videos. Su has often been accused of lip-synching because she is out of time with her vocal in live performances. However, again she is not lip-synching. Su often pre-records her own harmonies to back her live vocals to make her voice sound fuller and these backing tracks will come in at certain times during some songs. Again leading to lip-synching claims. But, I view this as Su providing her own back-up singers. My point here I guess is that there would hardly be a major band in the world that doesn't employ backing tracks, self harmonizing (both vocals and guitar) and even real lip-synching (stand up to the plate please, Madonna). Sometimes the girls in Babymetal continue to sing (mouth the words) while the track plays, even though their mics are closed. This makes them look like they are lip synching, but they are really just staying in place to the click track they have playing in their ears. If you are singing it is very hard stopping for a backing track and coming in live at the right moment if you don't keep up with the lyric. Sometimes your mouth moves with your thoughts. Anyway Ryan, This comment is stupidly long I am getting out. Welcome to the foxhole.

And I don't think you have seen the Kami Band in it's ultimate form yet. Replace Leda (First guitarist) with Mikio. Who was the teacher to many amazing guitarists that you already know and enjoy. Takayoshi,Leda,ISAO, Tomo-Zo just some of his more famous students.
