I feel as though Bobby is a very under appreciated character and that he is sometimes, if not all the time, taken for granted by the other hunters because he 'knows' almost everything about everything. If I could only have one character back, I`d choose Bobby, without thinking. I know there are many other characters who did not deserve to die, like as Charlie, Rufus, Ash, Kevin, etc. But Bobby´s death is the only one I am still not over and I will never be. He IS and will always be Sam and Dean´s dad. He loved his boys so much and they love him. I know they love John, too, but it was different. I always felt like Sam and Dean were supposed to love John, because he was their biological father. But they CHOSE to love Bobby. I would even say, they love Bobby more than John. Remember the episode in season 7 when Sam and Dean took care of this shapeshifter baby and the woman in the grocery store asked what the babies name was, Dean immediately said "BOBBY" and Sam added "John". Sam said "John", because he was soulless, and John (his father) was the first who came to his mind, when he thought about a father (because he was his biological father), but Dean named the Baby "BOBBY", without thinking twice, because Bobby was the only real father figure he had ever known. I know John loved his sons, too, but to be honest, he was a terrible father. Bobby on the other hand loved them unconditionally. He loves his sons for what they are and not for what he wanted them to be.
