i think when she said that lion king didn’t have a sequel, she was referring to the fact that they were direct-to-video sequels, whereas Frozen 2 is a feature-film sequel and is in theaters

Frozen 2 was the first animated musical that was made by Walt Disney Animation. All the others (direct to video and theater-released) were made by other studios like Disneytoon and other "daughter" companies instead of the main/big house. You can tell the animation looks different too

Those were sequels produced by a DIFFERENT Disney production studio team (DisneyToons) and they were only ever released on DVD, never made it to the theatre. Lion King and TLM were made by the main studio, that went on to make Frozen and Frozen 2, making Frozen 2 the first theatrical musical sequel ever produced by the main studio.
