I use the panel pieces and here is why: When I bought the daily bugle I displayed the figures on studs with my other figures, after only 1.5 weeks 1 one of the daily bugle figs had cracked feet. I also have figures that are on display for years and don’t have any cracks, It’s very random when/if a figure has cracks from studs. Since then I have all my figures on those panel pieces (except mighty micros and short legged figures) haven’t had a problem since then. But time will tell. The main problem with those panels is that figures don’t stand very steady, they easily fall of the panel. I prefer studs but I am to scared to use that method now

4:45 I don't have a shop or many tools but i still managed to make a shelf that was exactly what i was looking for. (I couldn't find one that met the specifications i needed online.) It was a spare set of bed slats that was cut to size with a hand saw. The only other tool I used was a drill. You don't always need fancy tools or tons of experience. 9:15 I've never seen cracks on the back of the feet of any of my minifigures. I also only have 1 that has cracks on the side out of the 400+ minifigures i have and that is the figure i was constantly swapping the legs out on as a kid because none looked right. So I'd say swapping parts is more damaging than being on lego studs.

@@rickverschuren6846 It really just depends on how protected you want them to be. I've seen that at the Atlanta brick co. they sometimes even keep expensive figures unbuilt as to not get cracks in the side of torsos. I think climate may also play a factor because i hear more frequently about cracks from people who live in hotter climates or closer to the equator but that's just speculation on my part. My other thought as a bionicle fan is that the colour may play a part in which ones crack. No bionicle fan can forget the pain of lime green ball joints.

I personally like to always play with my minifigures haha not like a kid painting, throwing them on sand, biting and etc, but always making little gags with them on my desk 😂 also like to change the poses, rearange them in different ways, make different scenes and etc.. Of course, I don't have a collection as big as yours, I have maybe 25-30 Marvel minifigures, so I'm still able to fit everything on my desk On the end of the day I don't like to keep them on a shelf waiting to perish over time, I feel like people should enjoy a bit more the collection instead of buying the minifigures to hide on a box forever. Specially because in my country Brazil, Lego costs 3x the original prices so we need to enjoy every bit of it haha

My plan is to use 1x2 rounded plates with hollow studs under the minifigs' feet. They have a bit looser grip than normal studs, so I figure that means less stress.

@UWANNAPUNCAKE I only recently put all my figs on these pieces, but I think they're fine. In my view at worst they are the same as normal studs, but being hollow and with a slightly looser grip I feel comfortable assuming it's better for the figs than normal studs.

You name checked the cheaper stadium display cases from Aliexpress but didn't make any particular point about why not to go that route. I picked up a bunch of those 3 step dustproof display cases. They run $3+ shipping or $6 w/ free shipping but if you buy them buy the dozen or so, you can often get them under $3/ shipped during a sale. Each of these cases can comfortably hold 10-15 figures without crowding. The dustproof cover locks onto the base. They stack and have peg holds on the size of the bases if you want to interlock them horizontally rather than just stacking vertically. If the concern is putting minifigs directly onto 3rd party pegs, put down bricks or base places then put the figures into those. I did this anyway just to further vary the heights. I was pleasantly surprised how clean all the edges were finished, how well they fit together, and how stable they were when stacked. Did you have a bad experience with them or are you just assuming the worst based on their price or some of the worse sellers/ manufacturers on those marketplaces?
@RyanSevelVlogs7 ай бұрын
I’ve had horrible experiences with Ali Express cases. 2 cracked from shipping, 1 couldn’t stack due to poor machining, and 1 had a strange “bubble” in the plastic. Glad to hear you had a positive experience with the cheaper brands, but I don’t advocate for them due to poor consistency.

@@RyanSevelVlogs Did you buy from a 'choice' seller? Aliexpress is a marketplace not a retailer nor manufacturer. Like Amazon and other marketplaces, where and how a seller sources goods, how they pack and ship them, etc. vary wildly. Sellers marked as 'choice' sellers on Aliexpress focus on a specific type of product and maintain higher quality control standards for that product. Choice sellers then have Aliexpress take care of all the shipping logistics so produces arrive faster, track better, and are less likely to be damaged in shipping. Also, when Aliexpress takes care of the shipping logistics, if something arrives damaged ( even the smallest scuff ) just take a picture and you'll receive a full refund right away... but you're far less likely to have any issue to report. Overall, Aliexpress is very good about giving refunds it the product you receive is damaged, defective, or in any way different than the listing describes so, the only way I can imagine having a horrible experience on there is if you choose to eat the loss instead of shooting a photo, getting a refund, and trying again from another seller. Where as I've had dozens of products refunded when rolling the dice on different sellers, but the only time I had an issue with a Choice seller purchase, it was clear from the shoe print, that my local carrier dropped then stepped on it. The difference between Choice seller and the cheapest price is often only a few cents difference so if that's your hesitation, checking out the sellers profile and focusing on choice sellers is likely worth every literal penny. If you like, I can message you a link to the specific listing from the specific choice seller I've bought from repeatedly and without issue.

So yeah it's more 50/50 where or not a fig made it to the modern day in presine condition of not regardless of how or where they were... KInda like physical media in a way... Some fig sitting on studs bured in a filled bulk bin for 20 years in a hot 30f-105f garage is perfect. While my my sigfig I had in a tube with my other favite fig from back then has a cracked torseo dispite being in a tempered control room. My issue with keeping figures enclosed is that it makes it irritating to rearrange or add new figures to a display. Or pull figures down to customize them. I get the dust is going to be an issue in the open air but that can always be cleaned off and i keep the room dark so there's very little to no light getting in anyways.

Looking forward to your video review on the shopPopdisplays. Also wanted to know how do you reccomend displaying the minifigure accessories? Items like the pinata, a dog, potter's wheel, etc. Most of these cases only seem to have the 2 studs to receive the figure alone. Thinking it is best to keep the entire CMF all in one display space.

tackiest, most consumerist video I have seen in a while. this reminds me why I enjoy the simple brick building aspect of lego over the hyper commercialized CMF side of the company. people, please display your unofficial minifigs with official lego minifigs if you want, especially if they are made from small businesses rather than cheap mass produced replicas/imitations of lego (in that there is genuine artistry behind the product). CMF are becoming more and more like Funko, collectible husks of actual creative design.

Whoooooooooo! This is a loaded comment. Look, if you don't like the CMF series, then that's great for you, you don't have to. You can stay playing with your simple 2x4s and 2x2s. But a lot of people I know actually quite like the CMF series minfigures, as they're fun, creative, and a nice small and cheap gift for that someone you don't really care about that much. You don't actually have to comment on everything you don't like, as I hope your parents taught you: "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." Have a nice day! P.S: you misspelled non as none btw

@@theRealAntelope lol yes my comment was slightly loaded, but I do prefer simple brick builds to specialized pieces (which CMF fall under at a certain point). I also agree that they can be a cheap gift, at least in CMF series/polybags, but that is not why I pesonally enjoy Lego. I don't even dislike minifigs outright, but I think the Lego community over-values them. Lego picked up on this and started putting exclussive minifigs behind ridiculous paywalls (i.e. Star Wars display sets/GWP) or behind blind boxes, which both prey on FOMO. There are more issues I take with Lego and particular Lego fans, but I won't get into them here. And thanks for the typo catch, will update my comment to fix it.

It’s comments like these that reaffirm my love for LEGO as a truly unique toy. The variety of subsets within the LEGO community stretches from “I just like to build” all the way to “I’m investing in this minifigure for future gains.” So long as the company is able to cater to both halves, LEGO can have its cake and eat it too, be both a simple toy and a collectable. I know I certainly fall more into the collector camp than when I was younger and I understand if that frustrates some people. But thanks for keeping me grounded with a reminder that I need to avoid becoming too “elitist.” The opinions in this video are mine and I have no problem if you want to display customs with LEGO figures. How you play and build should make you happy and that’s all that matters!
