"Straßenbegleitgrün" is a very German word 😅 it stands for the areas with grass or flowers next to streets. Those areas have to look a certain way, so they don’t "distract" drivers from being careful on the street.

Get well soo Ryan!❤ Extra3 is a german TV show where they once in a while feature new cases of "realer Irrsinn" (translates to real/true madness). It's german beaurocracy at its finest. We also don't know weather or not to laugh at cry about it. Esp since they use tax money to finanze all this pointless bs.

it might also be worth to note that Extra 3 is pronounced "exra drei", which was meant to alure to their specific dry humor. They're also famous for making really bad puns (the best kind of puns). Also, there's one sketch that's a true classic (it's from 1996 and it's still referenced often) regarding the Kuchenblech Mafia (cake-platter mafia).

"extra 3" is a play on words. The German word for "three" is "drei", which is pronounced like the English word "dry" (except for the German R). So the name of the TV show is pronounced "extra dry". The three originates from the show being produced and broadcast by the third national TV channel (there is "the first" ARD, "the second" ZDF and "the third" or rather "the thirds" because the latter is split into different regional sub channels, broadcasting partly shared, partly regional content).

except 3 is not pronounced like "dry" 😬 they simply don't have the correct sound for the R in their language. please don't make him and others reading this think that they pronounce it correctly when thy say "dry". tge german "drei" is also faster, its not "draaaeei" it's just "drei", so not similar to "dry" so its pronounced like a "fast" version of "dry" + a different R sound

Straßenbegleitgrün is one of those very technical German words that I doubt you'll find in a dictionary. It is a combation of Straße (street), begleiten (to accompany) and Grün (lit. the color green, but can also refer to plants/vegetation in general). To answer your doctor question: Regular family doctors doing home visits does still happen sometimes, like when someone is elderly, but it's become rare. But there also is a Notarzt (emergency doctor) and they can be called when someone is feeling very sick but it's not like a truly urgent emergency. If it is a real urgent emergency the Notarzt will also come, but then they will be acompanied by an ambulance.

Extra 3 refers to the TV show. The translation of extra would be a special broadcast (TV special) and the number 3 implies the relation to the 3rd channel of NDR or North German Broadcast. Back in day we had only a few public channels. The 3rd channels were a group of regional broadcast stations that shared frequences. They joke around with in-show fake newscasts titled extra 3 extra (theme/topic) extra = [extra 3 as name] special [topic] news special. Topics are hilarious like swatting terrorists but the terrorists are a man eating an expired dairy product or a school girl going early to school.

The name "Extra 3" is an allusion (I hope it's the right word 😅) to the TV channels. In Germany, the biggest channels are named ARD (also known as "The first"), ZDF (also known as "The second"), and NDR (also known as "The third"). In the old days, we only had these three channels. Most of the people watched ARD and ZDF, and so the creator of the show decided to choose a name, which shows that it's a show you can only watch at the third channel. It's extra for Channel three ^^ Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

It's a fringe lot owned by the city. The city didn't bother for years and left it to the woman to plant the land. Then the city remembered that the strip land was theirs. Not only did the city destroy the garden, but put a fence there. It would have been smarter for the city to leave everything as it is, especially since the city does not need the property. But the decision was probably made at the desk without getting a picture of it on site and without speaking to the woman.

My brother had a house in the states in a quiet residential neighborhood. The local government came in and took almost his whole front and side yard by eminent domain (the ability of the government to seize property from you for very little money to use for "public good"). They put in a lane that cut a 90° angle through what had been his yard for a turn lane---on a road with almost no traffic. It totally destroyed the value of his house. Germany is not alone.

About the "missing" subtitles. As this TV show is made by a public channel, it needs to be accessible to the deaf, therefore the original show is broadcast with (optional) subtitles made by the company which describe everything that you would miss if you were deaf. So, those do not include any information that can be read on screen (as the deaf can read that as well), also they sometimes change long sentences to shorter ones with same meaning to better fit on screen. KZbin gets those same subtitles for translation. So translating the screen text (and maybe also the video titles) with your translator is your way to go :) By the way, the title translates to "The caged lady in the city of Bielefeld" :)

Well, it's how they (family doctors) organize all their business. They have daily time slots for fixed appointments, often for recurring treatments and check-ups, a time slot for general consultation hours where you can go to without prior appointment for minor issues (pick up drug prescriptions e.g.) and urgent issues (unforseen deterioration of health or accidents) as well. And oftentimes late in the evening at the end of working day a time slot to visit patients at their home, who aren't able to come to doctor's office by themselves, like elderly and/or handicapped people.

Normal doctors do house visits for immobile people, but it is not common for every patient. If people have life-threatening or serious injuries or are worried about their lives because of their complaints, they should always call the emergency medical services (ambulance). If patients do not have life-threatening complaints, but also cannot wait until the next consultation, they should contact the medical on-call service. These are doctors that drive home to you and check on you when normal doctors are closed like weekends or night. I had to call an on-call-doctor, when I was sick at the weekend and needed doctors help. The normal insurance covers this, no problem.

Because you asked: "Extra 3" is a satirical TV Show in Germany airing on a relatively small regional TV channel (NDR) in Germany. But because this show is so funny it got famous in the whole country. Especially because of "Realer Irrsinn" (="Real insanity") which is a category in that show :D

TL;DR: More weirdo stuff from authorities in a village in East Frisia. The satire show comes from the TV station NDR, translated: North German Broadcasting. Bureaucracy is batty everywhere. My father unintentionally caused trouble last year: In the village, there was a wide strip of grass by the kindergarten where the grass grew very high and it was absolutely not maintained. His dog got ticks there all the time last summer. He complained to the Protestant church (operator of the kindergarten) and they said that the land belongs to the municipality and not to the church. My father asked the municipal administration and they said that the property belongs to the church. Both contacted each other and in the background were brought in for clarification: The building authority, the district administration, some office concerning real estate management of the church in Lower Saxony, the pastor, the kindergarten management. Finally, even a surveying company, because somehow in the construction plans the exact boundaries were not properly recorded. A surveyor remeasured the area and then it was determined that the fence of the Protestant church or the kindergarten "illegally" stands on municipal property. However, it was left as it was, because further back in the village the kindergarten was newly built and the land will be sold back to the municipality in the course of the year. SO THIS WAS TOTAL NONSENSE, because the municipality will be responsible soon for the whole property anyway!! I call this procedure "occupational therapy for civil servants in order to throw taxpayers' money meaninglessly out of the window". My father was informed of this by mail as part of his complaint, he knew the clerk and he told the whole story. In the end, the green strip was declared a community property and mowed (or rather: the wild growth was cleared).

10:16 you can see the 2 Garage and a red Car in the front and think about the cost for the fence and the company compare to the cost she could by it back, i think it would be better and cheaper to let it be in the old condition.

Some doctors make home visits. My Grandmother is 96 and for her checkups and her B12 injections there is always a doctor or a nurse coming to her home. When my father was sick our doctor couldnt make a home visit, but talked with him on the Phone and even send him medication for his coughing and called him the next day, to hear how he is feeling and if she needs to come visit him. Even i with 28 years dont have to come in the doctors office if i am really sick, they visit if they can. A normal thing is also, that if you get sick at the weekend or you need a doctor after 6pm, you dont need to call the ambulance or go to the Hospital if its not life threatening. You call the "Kassenärztlichen Notfalldienst", those are doctors who are working at weekends and from 6pm to 8am and doing home visits.

The village where I live in just got incorporated into a bigger city near by. Before no one really cared about the actual borders of the property, so people just put their gardens wherever making space for roads and walk ways where it was needed. A lot of people lost part of their property, because it was technically puplic property, so we have a lot of new fences and wasteland at the moment. The city wanted to take a part of our great grandmothers garden too, but my dad was like "Fine, if you want, but I will be taking this other part of the yard back, since it is technically our private property even though it has been used as puplic property until now." Well since that part of the yard containt the main road into the village and there was no place the road could go because off the houses on the other side, we strangely never heard from the city again and our great grandmothers garden remains intact. 😂

Extra 3 (which is a word play, as in German it sounds like "extra dry") is a political satirical show that runs weekly in the TV channel NDR (stands for NordDeutscher Rundfunk). The Realer Irrsinn (Real Madness) is one segment in the show.

The show is not called "real insanity" for no reason. The property has got a driveway in the backside so the front entry is "legally" not necessary, althogh it was the usual entry to the house before.

Extra 3 is a fantastic german TV show. Saw this and did the eye roll myself. The worst about German bureaucracy, however, is that EVERYTHING works by paper. I had to send in the original death certificates of my parents in to a court concerning an inheritance several times already. I wonder if all those bureaucrats work in their little cubicles and have vowed to never pass any information on to the person in the next cubicle doing the next step for citizen X…. It is not only bordering on, it IS ridiculous!

"Street companion green" is the result of receiving a word-by-word translation since, to nobodies surprise, this officialese hiccup simply does not compute to any dictionary maintained by the sane. What it seeks to express is placing decorative greenery alongside roads for safe conduct through (pleasant) visual improvement and contrast.
