Embiid & the 76ers underachieve every single year. Knicks have the better coaching, better defense & are led by Jalen Brunson who has been dominant in the playoffs 2 years in a row. What’s not to get ?

Same, feel like beating the Heat is their biggest challenge than beating the Knicks. They're not without a chance against Boston either. Heat also I think got slept on, one of those teams gets the Knicks for a potential 6 points.

By this system I'd probably have drafted: 1. Denver - Obvious reasons, if they stay healthy I think they win it all. Health has been an issue though. 2. Dallas - As they discussed, the path is clean for a lot of points. 3. Philly - Knicks feel incredibly beatable, assuming they can beat Heat. 4. Suns - Minny have questions to answer, Suns have the firepower. 5. Heat - Basically the hedge to Philly but I expect Philly to beat Heat comfortably. They can give Boston some issues as well but don't expect it. 6. Boston - If I understood correctly, most they can score is 4 points by winning it all. 7. Lakers - Don't love the Denver matchup, but they're a chance, since Bron has stopped chasing stats and became more of the facilitator they've been scary. 8. Clippers - It's the Dallas case but I don't trust Kawhi to be healthy or think they're as likely to beat OKC if they do win round 1. 9. Indiana - They're a chance. 10. Bucks - From a 3 seed, if things fell their way they could make it. 11. OKC - Basically banking the one point with a good shot at 2 or even the 3-4. 12. Knicks - Don't love their matchup either way but if they win, they can go to ECF. 13. Minnesota - Don't love the Suns matchup, don't love the Nuggets or Lakers in r2. They're a chance in both but not sure I'd pick them in either, if they were the 6th seed they'd be higher though. Basically rather swing for a 5 points on Suns than the more likely 1 from them. 14/15. Orlando/Cleveland - It's a coinflip series, can't see either going further, would take Orlando first just for the shot at the extra point. 16/17. Kings/Pelicans - Don't really see either of them winning. 18/19. Hawks/Bulls - Can't see either of them even making it.

Ceruti is playing this game the exact way you should be playing it. Take matchups between two good teams and cover it by taking both teams in the matchup and you're guaranteed points no matter what happens. Of course half of your teams will be knocked out and give you no points so there's a little risk there but I think I like every pick that he's made. The Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers series is also a pretty good pick depending on what is going on with the Bucks.. I especially like the Mavericks and Clippers picks because I think either of those teams could win the next round that they would play and would get a solid amount of points for that victory.

Jesus Christ since when did the Mavs become the second best team in the west?? They have one of the worst records against good teams (identical to Sacramento) and padded their defensive rating and wins against objectively worse opponents over the past 15 games. I’m not saying they are a bad team, but I think a lot of people need to temper their expectations with this team Also how is playing OKC a win?? This is the second best team in the NBA that is deeper, younger, and much more creative than the Mavericks or the Clippers

The whole deal is Lebron would get 2-3 days rest between games in the first round whereas he would only have one day rest in the conference. In case you missed it, this was like the whole deal with Lakers last year---they ran out of gas. Ryen does not know why the Lakers would want this. Really? You don't this Lebron with 2-3 days res is different than Lebron playing on 1 day of rest ? Actually, there is a huge difference. Fact.

I don’t really understand the idea that the Pacers wouldn’t have a chance in the second round. They’d definitely be underdogs but after a 7 game series Brunson or Embiid would be gassed and the Pacers have matched up well with both teams

This is a dumb thing to argue about but I think their strategy with the seeding bonus points this high is way way off. I think in this scenario the play is to draft the worst teams at every opportunity because 1 even middling upset is as many points as Denver/Boston winning the entire thing and since most of your picks aren't going to score any points at all, and the likelihood of the playoffs going all chalk, one upset and it's over before it starts. I think my first 8 picks would be the 8 play-in teams.

They absolutely have the most upside out of any team imo, but Joel has looked a little rough since returning. If he can somehow play at a level approaching what he was doing earlier in the season, then the Sixers very easily could make the ECF. Ceruti taking the Bucks over Sixers is absurd

i just mean 1 point for the first round which they are favorites plus 5 for difference in seed then bucks or pacers in round 2 probably favorites against both if they win which i would say is likely against a injured gianis or pacer is an additional 3 or 5 so 11 points to lose to the celtics i think could be likely.

Dallas is easily the highest EV pick here, could arguably go 1st, but nothing lower than 2nd pick (after Denver at #1). Soon as Ceruti picked both Denver and Dallas, this was over.

couldve done points for difference in seeds (if lower) and points for difference in games. if you win in 7, that's 1 point. sweep, that's 4. that way the top teams still have some value but you could absolutely hit it big with a convincing lower seed win

It should be counted as the 8th seed. These are play IN games. Not playoff games. The playoffs have 16 teams where four teams are determined by play in games.
