My god, Rygar is one I forgot about, and it was one of my absolute favorites growing up. I'm pumped that it's on the Switch store and I'd love to see a modern sequel as it'd fit in nicely with the current gaming landscape.

Well there is/was a PS2 (and also Wii port) of the Rygar sequel. It was pretty good; think God of War-ish in terms of gameplay, just not as graphic. I'd love a third game on current gen though. The weapon makes for some unique gameplay alone.

I found a warp glitch as a kid, at the first boss if you jump off the screen to the right and die sometimes it will warp you to the last area. The enemies killed me in a couple hits and I don't know exactly how I did it or how useful it is but maybe someone can figure it out by messing around with it

I must be the only person who gets unreasonably angry at bad frame rates and slowdown constantly being called "lag." "Lag" is slang for "latency", and it only applies to the game stuttering when you have a bad connection to the game's server or to the other player(s) in your session. A single player NES game cannot lag.
