Tommee Profitt, Nate’s producer, always makes cinematic tracks. If I’m not mistaken, he works on movies as well :) he’s amazing. He’s done videos of him that show how he made certain tracks, The Search, Clouds, etc and it’s so sick to see behind the scenes. Also, with all NF videos there’s closed captions so I like turning them on with new tracks so he can’t sneak anything by me 😂 I don’t know if that would help you guys any
@BrysonSappingtonMusic10 ай бұрын
Yep! Tommee is amazing at what he does. He mostly does trailer soundtracks, but I think some of his stuff is featured in movies too. I love his work, both on his own and with Nate. He's a huge inspiration for me and my music

NF co-directs and co-produces his videos with Patrick Tohill. Great visuals in this one about what his fans mean to him and how he lets us in - notice he has the keys but at this point when he opens the door he doesn't go out, he lets fans in with him.
@NomadOfEndings2 жыл бұрын
There's a running joke with the people that insure Nate that there constantly like "Oh god, he wants to do his own stunts again... Someone send in the safety crew." The behind the scenes video of Clouds proves he has that "Tom Cruise" mentality of when it comes to stunts, where he dislikes green screens and feels guilty having stunt doubles do stuff for him... No one believes for a second he's fake but for the love of good music, that last scene in Clouds gave his fans heart attacks when they saw that wasn't fake lol

NF's videos are very atmospheric and, as I'm guessing you both are fans of the horror cinematic genre (based on Michael and Elvira hanging in the background), it makes sense to me that you'd be attracted to his vids. Horror is all about mood and that appears to be what NF strives for. As you've noted, many of NF's videos are conceptually simple and that's what makes them so incredible; they are the epitome of "simple elegance."

Like a lot of things in Nate's music the cage can have multiple meanings. Of course it has a connection with Fear. Nate speaks about that in Into III. But we also know Nate links albums. The first line of "Outcast" NF says "Woke up in a cell, Where am I at?" Nate knows where he is at, but he is posing the question to his fans. A question die hard fans will know the answer to. He is really asking "Where am I at if I woke up in a cell?" The answer is "Pain". In "How Could You Leave Us" NF says "They say pain is a prison, let me out of my cell." The keys that are in NF's hands. Represent an escape from his pain, and that music, faith, and family are the keys. Even though he holds the keys to escape his pain, it's still hard for him to do. Because Fear still has a say in how he deals with his pain. And in someway Nate still loves his pain. "Sing along with the pain, Nate, love it." Keep up the 🔥 reactions guys.

I like imagining facial expressions behind the microphone. You can tell when he mentions the Mike Tyson lyric, he grits his teeth with the "if I don't LIKE you". I also appreciate all his back vocals, which he probably got from Eminem like the "(HI!) I'm Nate, have we met before", he definitely got that from Eminem.

For alot of us NF fans 'Outcast' is THE hype song, I have it in my playlist for when I'm running. Im so happy you guys caught the 'clouds' reference though based on everything of yours I've watched so far, i'd more surprised if you didn't. The Mike Posner line is a reference to a grammy interview the artist did where they both had their hair dyed green (Like the joker) and they went on this rant about mansions and stuff. It was super weird and awkward. So "My turn joker like I'm Mike Posner" is what that is referring too. Its a hard bar if you know what happened.
