For my fellow guitar players his tuning is: D A D D A D

this tuning always mystified me. Is the g-string up to D or do you tune the guitar to B(?) first and use a Capo? John Fahey also uses DADDAD on the Fare Forward Voyagers Album.

@@BenwaMeneers You tune it down to D, the low 3 strings are the same as Drop D and then the high 3 are the same again, just up an octave. It works on acoustics with a wound G but the plain on my electrics gets a bit spaghetti-ish. And with the capo the tuning becomes F#. There's a nice interview with Ryley Walker by Premier Guitar called: "Ryley Walker: Seeking the Infinite within “Weird” Tunings" which was helpful in figuring out his tunings.

@@InVacuo Thanks for explaining, first read i thought you tuned up to D so I stuck with DADGAD. Tuning down to D sounds much cleaner now that i've tried it
