Ryman Premier League Play Off FINAL: Bognor Regis Town v Dulwich Hamlet

After both teams came out on top in Thursday's play-off semi-finals, Nyewood Lane opened its doors to see Bognor Regis Town host Dulwich Hamlet for a place in the National League South.
In the season encounters, it was a win 3-1 for Bognor at Champion Hill (8th October), and a point-a-piece after a 1-1 draw at Nyewood Lane (11th February). As for the season, Bognor Regis finished the in-form side, winning seven of their final 10 games, in which they scored 25 and only conceded 6. Dulwich finished the season with the 6th best form in the league, after winning 6 of their final ten fixtures. However, losses against Billericay Town (3-0), Havant & Waterlooville (2-1) and Grays Athletic (1-0), saw them collect 19 out of a possible 30 points, and finish 12 points below Bognor Regis.
For both Bognor and Dulwich, it is their third playoff campaign in the past four seasons. Last year these two sides met at the semi-final stage of the playoffs, after Bognor finished in second place and Dulwich in fifth, and it was Dulwich who won the game 1-0. They went on to lose to East Thurrock United in the final. Dulwich also lost in the playoffs during the 2014/15 campaign, when they lost at the semi-final stage to Margate. Bognor also lost in the playoffs at the semi-final stage during the 2013/14 season when they were beaten 2-1 by Lowesoft Town. This will be Dulwich’s fourth play-off visit to Nyewood Lane since 2011.

Came for a job, and regretted it ever since. But have had some fun footie wise. Helped a local college team reach the finals of their league (Brits have better understanding of tactics - especially change mid game when needed, individual player improvement over a season, and assessing opposition game plans). I have also enjoyed following a new team in the 4th tier. Kingston, NY. They are my local team (only 80 miles away) Check them out - the broadcast games on Facebook stream Kingston Stockade. But hells bells, York have been though more tribulations than my first team Pompey. Have always been interested in Bognor too, and was there during their great cup runs during 1980s. Best wishes. Sorry to hear that, do you plan on returning soon? I grew up in York but am an American through and through, so only chance I really have of going back is via work visa. I am planning on studying abroad in England in the spring of 2018 in an effort to get my foot back in the door. Would love to go see a game at Nyewood Lane while I'm there, such a charming ground! I dunno about that, Pompey have been through loads and I admire everyone who's stuck around to support them through the hard times. Hopefully this promotion will be the catalyst for many more! :) I can't stand the MLS to be honest with you, but yea, good for them haha.

I'm still working that out, although it looks likely that I'll end up in London. I know that isn't exactly close to Bognor Regis, but hey, it would be worth a trip every now and again for the experience! My situation is a bit complicated because I didn't really give much thought to what field I should study in order to get back to England when I first started school. I opted to study French and German because I love languages, not realising that it would be nigh impossible to get a work visa on either of those. I'm planning on getting an internship while abroad in an effort to get my foot in the door somehow, however I'm not gonna lie, I'm extremely discouraged and don't feel as if my chances of getting back into England on a long-term or permanent basis are very high. It's tough because while I am American, I feel like I'm English as my first memories are from there and that's where I grew up. I'm sort of trapped. Sorry for the novel, haha!
