Great job! No nonsense talking, clear, brief & straight to the point with good lighting & camera work!!! I have just purchased one of these & I have learned from you things that I wasn't even aware of from reading the paperwork that came with it! A good demonstration of the tools abilities! I particularly enjoyed the drag race!! Well done & thank you for taking the time to make it!!

I started construction a few decades ago with Ryobi Blue and I still have it today, short of the batteries being dead, the tools themselves are still usable unlike a few other systems I bought along the way. This new Green Line is impressive to say the least and I am sure this is a step up on the Original Blue Kit... You make wonderful videos, thanks for sharing....

Paul Bialozor thanks and thanks for sharing the experience. We still had some old 14.4v and 18v ryobi blue tools that still work except for the batteries but that's because we didn't take care of them. Couldn't find any batteries for the 14v so we sold them at a yard sale
@cybercapri9 жыл бұрын
Tool Craze Yeah Man those old Blue Batteries are so easy to over charge and ruin it was not even funny; but they were also very cheap so you didn't break the bank replacing them. What is very nice about Ryobi is they kept the same battery format when they changed battery types, so that was nice about them. I went from Ryobi to Bosch to Rigid and I am very happy with Rigid 18V. Bosch Batteries are not much better then Ryobi so that system, too, is boxed up with 2 new batteries still in packaging right next to each other. Bosch tools are solid and their Jig Saw is by far the best I've ever used. It was heavy enough to not jump all over the place yet light enough to use over head if necessary. The Bosch Battery is hefty to begin with and some tools it doubled the weight, but you get that with some tools. Rigid has done a great job with their batteries as I might charge mine 5 times a year; granted I am not using them daily as I once did, but even daily use meant bi-weekly charging with the large capacities batteries. The 2.0 amp hour batteries are crap as mine did not last a week and getting them replace was so daunting that it was not worth the effort so now they have been converted to paper weights... Enjoy...

Just brought a jigsaw for 10mm plywood and tight curves. I found that you must turn the oscillating function to 0 or off as the blade wanders. I had the angle grinder already and that is great, I brought a chuck adapter 10mm to 14mm and can now use it as a die grinder. I also use small drum sanders with it. Battery life is good.

Home depot online sales - this Jigsaw $79 includes charger and Battery - always check online before buying anything at HD store, even if at the store, they will match the price or you may get more for your money by ordering online as in this deal (they ship this for free as well either to your local store or direct to home) - at store it is $59 with no battery or charger right now...great vids, thanks (also at one point I got the ryoby 18+ router and sander combo with chargers and two batteries for $105 tota for both, so always check online)

I have two Ryobi drills one blue, one green, I prefer the blue. Reciprocating saw, green, I really don't know how this is still going, I've used it to clear big brush from several trees to save climbing with a chainsaw, dropped it a few times too! Circular saw, blue, never worked with the NiMh batteries it came with, works perfect with the lithium batteries, also own the hand held vacuum and the leaf blower. This jigsaw is on it's way. Can't wait to cut the cord!

I owned almost all of the blue Ryobi power tools, both the 18v and corded. They worked alright for the price, but the 18v tools didn’t last. They were underpowered and didn’t stand up to abuse. That being said whatever Ryobi did with their new green +one 18v series was phenomenal. I have several of them and they are quality tools with tons of features. I just purchased the router table and for the price it’s great. The only tool I plan on keeping is my old Ryobi table saw, sometimes newer isn’t better.

I do have a ryobi corded drop saw...but looking at that cordless version too. Am n the process of making a mini saw table to take my cordless circular saw...sadly the small cordless won't take a dado blade, but for the price and convenience, am very happy.

Is it better to just buy the orbital jigsaw as opposed to the normal jigsaw? Does the normal jigsaw have any advantage?
@brianmorris80459 жыл бұрын
Why didn't you compare it to the Ryobi corded jigsaw. I own a Ryobi cordless model and am more than happy for it doing quick jobs where I don't want the bother of getting my safety power cord...it peforms better than expected for me on curves, circles or just straight...my old one is upside down in a jigsaw table that I made.

Good review - very informative. Bought my P523 out of a "return" bin, so did not know about the "blade saver" feature (no manual). However, none of the T-shank blades sold by Home Depot would fit! Had to modify Dewalt T-shanks by hand to get them to fit, and have just ordered a 20 pack of blades from a distributor in Manchester, England... :-P Blades not available in the U.S. anywhere I can find. Normal T-shank blades DO NOT FIT.

Hey, why dont you adress the bad sides of it like the shaking and added wight of the battery? also when you compeard it to the corded one the cut form the curded one was much more stable and clean.
@ToolCraze8 жыл бұрын
ilisati you didn't know batteries add weight? Jigsaws vibrate and it's normal, that's not a negative.
@Irohbro8 жыл бұрын
I just wanted to know how the extra weight affects the cutting experience, like how big a impact dos it have, is the weight the cause of the extra vibrations? Or is it just fine to use and just a little heavyer?
@ToolCraze8 жыл бұрын
Weight is similar. If you ever used a jigsaw you would know that you don't hold the weight of the tool because the tool rests on the surface of the material at all times, all you're really doing is pushing and guiding the jigsaw when you use it. Stop saying it vibrates more because it doesn't. It's the same as the other model. Watch the video again. The shaking is camera shake because the tripod was touching the legs of the jawhorse that was holding the wood. If you look closely the shaking got worse as the jigsaw got closer to the camera and the Ryobi got there sooner. Watch the video again and see how they shake about the same when either are at the start of the cut and near the end of the cut
@Irohbro8 жыл бұрын
yea when i se the video again it looks like the the other one is shacking less cuss it blows away the filings were on the ryobi they stays close and there for vibrates more cuss they are closer the the blade. Thanks for the help! I,m now convinced to buy it. I already have a ryobi drill
