When you were testing the brushless drill. The reason it stopped near the end was the flutes on the drill bit were full of wood chips. You either need to pull the drill bit up to clear it or get a longer drill bit. Great video!! I was thinking the same thing about the hateful drill that comes in the kit. They should have put a better drill in there. Especially if they’re gonna market it to homeowners that need a drill.

The wood broke underneath the 4x4 and the bit got caught on it. I need treated wood for now on
@Dave_Simmons4 жыл бұрын
When drilling any hole, you need to clear the chips periodically. Otherwise, the chips will bog down and stop the drill. Spade bits are known for breaking through the wood and breaking off and splintering pieces, without cutting all the way through cleanly. Especially when trying to drill holes fast. The best way to avoid splintering is to stop drilling when the tip of the spade bit breaks through and resume drilling from the other side. Drill motors will overheat rapidly when bogged down and stopped by the material when under power.

Cool Ryobi put that together that includes a basic drill. The kit is perfect for people just starting out in life on their own or the basics for some DIY'ers putting furniture or whatever together.

Thank You David !!! I really like thebbag also😁😍. I think I missed the price if you told us. I agree that I would like to see HD sell the hand tools individually. Most of us have bits. Does Ryobi have a regular knife as well? Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos, Rodney

I really wish this kit was lower priced, or didn't come with some of the items like the drill/battery/charger/bits to keep the cost down. I had already bought the tape measure (both versions), hammer (have all three sizes), drill bits, and have the brushless drill, so all of those things were useless to me. The drill is very base model and the battery is one of the weakest they currently make so also no need for that. I'm sure for someone just starting out, this set would be great. For anyone else that has been in the Ryobi game awhile, it has too much extra crap. The only reason to get it for most would be for the "Ryobi" box cutter, 2 screwdrivers, and the pliers. That's not reason enough to spend $50+. I thought about buying this set and selling everything off except these items, but it doesn't seem worth it. Furthermore the Ryobi branding on them doesn't look that great. It looks kind of slapped together. As others have said, I wish Ryobi would just release their own brand of hand tools. We already have the hammers and tape measures so here is hoping they come out with an actual screw driver set, level, wrench set, pliers set, and ratchet set. I have the Evolv series which look close, but would love to get some nice looking, Ryobi branded versions of all these. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

I agree, a full line on sockets, wrenches and other tools would be awesome. They also should have included a brushless drill instead of the one it came with. Thank you sir :)
