I started out buying Ryobi corded tools over thirty years ago when their color was blue. I still use them. Somewhere along the timeline I dipped my toe into their cordless blue products. I hear what yo are saying about the power stations. My only take is for those of us who do not need a power station on a daily basis but we use our tools all the time, it might make since. With the outdoor tools I have and the amount of time I use them, I have batteries. I even broke down and bought some 12 ah batteries for use with my mower and pressure washer. I live in a place where the power goes out once every 6 months for about 4 hours. Same with my camper. we seldom camp where there is no power. I only need power for the stop along the way or an occasional power outage,. I have a hard time justifying the cost of a solar generator which I would only use sixish times a year. Where at least if I buy a battery to increase run time for the tool battery inverter, it also increase's the time I can use my tools. Even if I left it in my shed to power the lights, that would minimally increase usage. Using the power station will have a minimal impact on the life of the batteries. the tools will be what they get used the most in. I am considering the 18 volt inverter because I have a little over 3000 watts of battery power in tool batteries. being able to parallel it with the 40 volt would allow me to run the ac on my camper for almost 3 hours . You are correct though, If you need to use something a lot, tool batteries would not be the way to go.

I bought a Ryobi 1800/2200 Generator back in 2016 and I can’t Bragg Enough on it - it’s Mostly Quite - on idle side, I got 9ish hrs on a tank full of gas, on full throttle I got 5ish hours, I used it with harbor freights solar panels- I had 2 sets, there long gone- those aren’t meant for off grid use, I got 4 years out of those in Southern California, loosing 2 in the 3rd year, I no longer use them, I’m on full Electricity now, but in the 4 years that I was off grid I used my generator Daily, I would set my alarm and wake up to fill it with gas, it Never failed to start, I can’t say enough- now it’s out there, I start it and let it run dry, every 6 months, and the last time I did it I had to cut it off and restart it 3 days in a row, because dummy me filled it up, haha- ya we sometimes forget- anyway, I love the videos, I miss the bear, 🐻 - 90% of my tools now are Ryobi, - I did smoke my circular saw, so I bought a cheap corded harbor freight one till I can afford another Ryobi one. I just learned the other day about the chop saw - lays down so you can cut all the way through a 2x4 without turning the board over, now how cool is that, Wow, I’ve had that tool 2 years and didn’t know that, yep I didn’t read the instructions- haha- anyway, God Bless, and Ryobi On. 🤠♥️✝️🙏🏻🕯️🐻🇺🇸🌲

As far as power banks LiFePO batteries can handle higher cycle counts but they don’t have the power density of LiIon/LiPolymer batteries. LiIon can generally push higher amp draw tools. I’ve run a power bank for years now and they have a big advantage on the ability to swap batteries and not lose massive down time from recharging. As a professional contractor battery use and life is a cost of doing business and the convenience of power on site with the same battery platform and not having the noise of a generator.

I hope they put the finish & framing nailers on sale at some point. Nothing jumping out at me so far. Not sure I follow on the power station take - I totally get that if you were running off it every day (maybe in an RV?) you wouldn't want to be using tool batteries, but it seems like the tool battery power stations are intended for homeowners who already have power tools that need to have their batteries upgraded every 5 years or so, and they just want an emergency backup power source in case the power goes out - in that case, the use of upgradeable batteries seems like it would actually prolong the longevity of the power station. No experience here with either type though.

This year’s Ryobi Days seems on par with last year’s. I couldn’t find anything really worth it last year. Same again this year. In past years, I always picked up a battery combo or two. $99 for a 4ah and 2 ah is crappy. Used to be 2x 4ah and some decent enough tools. I think 2 years ago I got the 1/2” impact and the “power” washer.

The battery bundles definitely aren’t as good as last year’s. The $199 bundle had a 6ah in the mix. I’d pay a little extra rather than the shrinkflation. The chain saw is missing from the $199 tier but maybe that will be added layer if Bear’s prediction comes true. I didn’t notice them adding items later.

Ryobi days sucks this year. I wanted the high torque impact the hackzall and an hp angle grinder. But the only good tools are the high speed ratchet and right angle die grinder. I guess the compact 3/8” impact wrench is decent but I already have a p262. And on top of the shitty tool selection they cut the 6ah battery out of the hp deal for a 4ah. What a gyp! Thanks for spitting in the faces of your loyal customers TTI.

Been using Ryobi since the blue cases, never had one fail - like to keep things the same battery format. Have enough "motorized / hydraulic" equipment and vehicles to justify getting a powered grease gun (I swear the engineers place the fittings purposely in inconvenient spots). I heard Ryobi has one but never seen or know how well it works. I have heard some other manufacturers have had problems with theirs, is it worth waiting to find a Ryobi grease gun (or do I just go to Harbor Freight and get a "Hercules") ?

The problem is, I don't need any 4 ampere hour batteries. I'm kind of liking the 2 Ah batteries for their lighter, smaller form factor insert an applications. So last year, when I could purchase the 6 ampere hour,4 ampere hour, and 2 ampere hour combo pack with charger for $200 and get a free HP tool, that's what I was waiting for this year. But now I see that Ryobi has cheaped out and offered me two of exactly what I don't need, which is 4 ampere hour batteries, plus one 2 ampere hour battery. No thank you. My days of anticipating Ryobi days are over.

Ryobi is an entry level brand for DIY that has good selection to choose from. If you only have a $200 hand tool kit get some power tools. Give your wrists and shoulders a break. Don't get brushed tools they are older and obsolete design
