Mine worked good until it didn't. Motor quit while cutting 6" madrone. Bought it from Amazon a year ago. Supposed factory 3 year warranty only good if bought from Home Depot. So no warranty for mine even though book says 3 year factory warranty. I took it apart, a brush in the motor broke.. Motor no longer available from Ryobi. Guess it's a throw-away. No more Ryobi's from Amazon for me.

You should be able to buy new brushes for it

The battery powered tools are wonderful. We've found that a battery chainsaw works great for cutting open crates and pallets in the shop. Looking forward to a review of how that bar and chain hold up.

Since developing arthritis, I'm not too keen on two stroke engines anymore. Just about all my yard equipment is battery powered now. I'm also curious as to how the chain will hold up without an oiler.

I like that the ryobi is about half the price of the Milwaukee m12 8 inch pruner. Probably does just as good for a homeowner.

Nice chainsaw good for around the house. And I like the knife we aren’t allowed switch blades in New Zealand haha

Me neither. The manual says to oil it "periodically"

How's she goin'? Well you did it again, found another Ryobi tool!!! Congrats!!! That looks like a decent saw. No auto oiler may be a concern, but I think since the chain doesn't go as fast a regular chain saw, it should be OK!!! Take care!!!

Hey Mike. Ya, the no oiler bit is a tad worrisome. The manual says to "oil the chain periodically" lol. We'll see. I doubt it'll be a problem for me as I won't be using it very often. It might be a problem for people who use it a lot though.

There's nothing like the smell of 2 stroke oil in the morning but I really should cut back and this is a great option for those trying to weed themselves off 2 stroke oil. 👍

I just got this saw from Home Depot today. You can buy the 2 18volt batteries and charger for 99 bucks and get the saw for free. Thought that was a pretty good deal.

It is getting a bit out of hand. I'm in a couple Ryobi Facebook groups and some of those guys make me look like an amateur. I swear, some of those guys have three of every tool Ryobi ever made.

With the price of lumber,... It's great you found a way to cut the price in half... Maybe you can use it on a big stone, and you'll have the coolest fireworks in town...Besides, you are "cool" anyway, without my advice, Bruce...
