Have an older 2800 psi gas Ryobi pressure washer and got my son a new 3000 psi Ryobi gas pressure washer. Noticed how smooth the new one ran versus the older one. I decided to look for some videos on how to maintain these mostly for my sons benefit and found this video. My son and I then did the recommended maintenance on my older unit including buying the Sea Foam additive along with the pump additive and it made a world of difference. Mine starts with one pull and runs as smooth as ever. The video took any mystery out of servicing the equipment and made it simple. Also got to spend some quality “garage time” with my son.

Thanks for posting your video because its going to make my purchase easy. I saw in another video that said when you first buy your unit, after the first 5 hours change the oil with the 10-30 w. Then after every 50 hours. Just words for thought.

I just bought one from someone who let it sit for a year and will not run. You will need to drain the old gas for sure. You may need a really good carburetor cleaning as well. It should be fine after that. Always use non-ethanol gas and you won't have issues with the fuel system.

The one thing I would add, is when you start up a Pressure washer release the pressure on the wand because it will put pressure on the pump ! Also, do not let your pressure washer run without it being used for no more than 30 seconds. you gonna put damage to your pump.

Thank you for posting this ! I had no idea there was a pump protector to squeeze and removing ions from the water hose feed before attaching. Instead of using regular fuel, I strongly recommend to use a product called TruFuel which is a ethanol free fuel which won’t gum up for long storage periods. It’s around 18.00 a gallon. Well worth not having carburetor problems and surging of the engine. No Sea foam will be needed using TruFuel, nor fuel stabilization. TruFuel has a two year shelf life and can be purchased at Home Depot.

Other than getting the hose connector turned around (watch out for that one), the machine is simple to put together and use kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP . And very nice, too. I'm surprised at the power-it's more than we'll ever need, and we've not even used the most powerful setting yet.I've cleaned off a dirty concrete porch to get it ready for sealing, started to clean siding, and I know this pressure washer will be terrific for cleaning tools this fall.The only issue we had is we had turned around the hose connector, and it leaked. Once it was on correctly, though, we had no problems with the connection. Just remember that the end with the green knob goes towards the hose. It's obvious now what we did wrong, but not necessarily obvious at the time.

Why not use the hole under the drain plug to let oil drain .
@aeromedical67762 ай бұрын
There are no drain plugs on RYOBI pressure washers. Trust me - I’ve cursed out the manufacturers (under my breath) every time I have to do an oil change. Who designs a small engine piece of equipment without an oil plug? I use a device that I can stick in the oil fill hole and suck the old oil out of the crank case. Better option than tipping the unit to let the oil drain out.

I have never had to do a spark plug on any of my engines.

Why do people think that spark plugs need to be replaced all the time? Spark plugs are no different than any other part.. replacing a working spark plug is no different than deciding to randomly replace your power steering pump for no reason. Don't make no sense.. it's rip off mechanics and part counter boys trying to make sells that have people thinking that spark plugs need to be pulled out and replaced for no reason.
