I've studied many theologians and their writings and books. Ryrie was my favorite. He still is! He didn't write books to impress other theologians. He wrote for the edification of the Body of Christ. He wrote to actually benefit the average Christian. The NAS Ryrie is my go to study bible. I wish every Christian would read "Basic Theology." I consider it a must read...a top 3 book of all time for Christians. We would all be so much better for it in our understanding of God. Of course his Dispensationalism books! Simply great! I also think of "So Great Salvation" and how he tore down the straw man arguments of John MacArthur's Lordship salvation teaching in his "Gospel According to Jesus" book. No doubt, great is your reward in heaven Dr. Ryrie. Thanks for everything that you contributed. I miss you already, and look forward to meeting you in our Father's house. Amen

Finished his course, fought a good fight, kept the faith and great reward he is now surely enjoying. I am not dispensational but he was spot on about Free Grace and eternal salvation being appropriated by nothing other than faith in what Christ accomplished on the Cross. The Ryrie Study Bible I find a valuable resource and wholeheartedly agree with it'a stance on what is the most important and essential matter anyone can face - the person and work of the Lord Jesus and what think ye of Him, the answer determining whether it will be Heaven or Hell when we leave the scene of time. Charles Ryrie fondly remembered. Fitting tribute Lion and Lamb ministries. God bless.

Amen I like this man of God. It was funny how they were talking about escapism, martyrdom. I've got a friend who is adamant that he will be more than willing to "die for my lord" during the tribulation. I lol'd because right he's not really living for Jesus now!

The intervirew is great, but never will I use an electronic Bible. It's such a difference when browsing pages and books!

I keep my phone with the Bible installed for two main reasons: first, searching for a word or cross reference is so much faster; and since the phone is in my purse, I can read a Psalm if stuck somewhere just sitting and waiting on an appointment. My preference is always my physical, paper Bible. With the world moving away from God and so much deception, it is probably possible for the enemy - through duplistic publishers or even hackers to change the text on electronic devices so subtly that we might not notice the change. Oh but my paper Bible is not easily changed so that I would not recognize the change. Mind you, I am not suggesting that this is being done; just suggesting the possibility.

God has not given us a spirit of fear but of a sound mind in the KJV. All modern translation say self discipline instead of sound mind. Those two translations are totally different they cannot mean the same thing. That is just one of thousands of differences in the texts from the KJV and all 20th century perversions since 1901. Do your own research you will be astounded at the differences.

Isaiah 45:7 NIV form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and CREATE DISASTERS; I, the LORD, do all these things. KJV says the Lord creates Evil NIV Creates Disasters. KJV isn't always the best translation..
