I'm going to take a guess as to what Rythian's thinking was in this: TLDR; Rythian realises Daltos is either an innocent who didn't think before he shot, or a traitor who attempted to get a free kill. Rythian believes the latter is more likely. If Daltos is an innocent, he risks killing a blatant Jester play (thus forfeiting the game), a traitor who made a casual misplay (pretty unlikely) or a memeing innocent. An innocent should not shoot unless they just weren't putting any thought into this. We see this reflected in how everyone else responds as no one else really attempts to kill Duncan. If Daltos is a traitor, not only does he know everyone's role, but he knows exactly who the Jester is so can kill with confidence. If they're an innocent, Daltos just got a free kill, if they're a traitor, Daltos is confirmed inno for killing a traitor, if they're a Jester, Daltos wouldn't have killed them in the first place (this only works assuming Daltos wasn't aware of Dead Men Tell No Tales, which is what Rythian assumes here 1:00). Basically, a traitorous Daltos would kill Duncan. Assuming Daltos is playing in a fairly rational way, the only situation it made sense for Daltos to kill Duncan is if Daltos was a traitor. Part of the reason it comes off in such a convoluted way is because Rythian first concludes that Daltos is innocent (0:41) and then loses track of where he's going when he realises that the facts make it more likely that Daltos is a traitor (1:15 'I've argued myself out of my own conclusion', ie the conclusion that Daltos is innocent).

All of it avoids the 4th option though, which is that the person doing it is just an idiot Thing is.. ... you can never rule that option out in Yogscast TTT

@@FluffyDragon Yeah, like I said, 'Assuming Daltos is playing in a fairly rational way', 'An innocent who didn't think before he shot'. Even Rythian's logic accounts for some incompetence on Daltos' end on him not knowing about Dead Men Tell No Tales. Any guesses you make about a yog's play is subject to this, note the Lewis incident where someone (Spiff I think?) repeatedly did suspicious stuff around him to try and get Lewis to call him out. When Lewis said nothing, Spiff assumed he was a traitor because he failed to take into account that Lewis could be just an innocent who wasn't paying attention.

The other option is that Daltos is a trigger happy innocent, in which case you're probably still better off without him in a round where you can't even check the result of that behaviour

in the end, the result was daltos was an inno or a traitor and was worth the risk of shooting at that point in time. seeing as daltos did it without thinking, the results was just...... worth.

I think daltos' real line of reasoning was: Duncan has outed himself. If I kill home and he is revealed traitor, they will believe I'm innocent. However he didn't see the dead men tell no tales.
