Apparently no one has read the comics or lore. Ken is no slouch and has beaten ryu while drunk off satsui no hadou which isn't an easy task. Ken has the potential he just chooses family over the warrior path. If he chose the warrior path he'd be just as strong as ryu with alot more versatility

Ryu being Japanese would mean that his actual name would be Hoshi Ryu-san. Because in Japan a person's surname come first, then their given followed San.
