Found out today that he passed. I had forgotten Ryuichi Sakamoto's name for years and couldn't find this song. Sad that I have only heard it again after his passing, but I am grateful many times over for all the music he gave us.

かっこいい… 昨日のブルーノートで、矢野顕子さんがトリオでこの曲をやっていて、痺れました。

Mr. Sakamoto is one of my FAVORITES! I just enjoy his music so much, especially the ones I am discovering beyond the "Hollywood Blockbusters." Thank you for the upload!

2:37 is really "Berimbau" by Vinicius de Moraes and Baden Powell (also known as "Bidonville" by Claude Nougaro in France). Great song anyway !

really reminds me of the music that plays in breath of the wild. The beginning has a similar vibe to the horse riding theme. I wonder if Ryuichi Sakamoto's work was an inspiration for that game's soundtrack.

without a doubt

I've really hope nintendo hires him for the next breath of the wild game, his darker music nowadays would fit perfectly with the disturbing vibe nintendo are trying with BOTW2

Ryuichi Sakamoto's work was an inspiration for many video game soundtracks.

It surprise to my self how many similarities i recognize between his music and video games. However we shouldn't forget that video games industry is essentially japanese, they make music based on they own culture and so happens with their artists. So the edge between the influence of an artist or the sound of their country in videogames isn't clearly at all. Is the artist influencing the videogames or are the videogames and the artist following some music stereotype from japan? Probably both options are correct

The piano version is so superior to the original eventhough I really like the guitar part. Still can't believe he passed.
