RIP Ryuichi Sakamoto....Maestro Sakamoto was a genius

my husband & i watch this literally everyday. we're desperate to see them in concert one day. nothing is more transcendent than ryuichi sakamoto & david sylvian collaborating. it's shocking how many people are unaware of one or the both of them. we're moved every moment of every day by the both of them.

I can only agree, having been a fan and faithful follower since the early 80s. Hope Ryuichi san is better soon. And that David will tour again plus publish a great album with his wonderful vocals. Together with Steve san, preferably.

We all have our music that makes us happy or helps us celebrate, wether its Metal ( me ) or rap. But this right here, is true music. Music that speaks to you're very soul, whatever lies in you're core. It is very rare for music to have this true sort of timeless effect in my opinion, and I will always be thankful for discovering this amazing artist. No matter from what walk of life you are from or what you do as a job, this is beautiful.

I cannot get this collaboration of sound out of my head, everyday I try and listen to figure it out. Emotions and Memories run high as the vocals reach your ears, your body turns numb as the deft piano and guitar/bass take your hold. I am very glad this was the first track I heard from Mr. Sakamoto.

One of my fav songs - puts me in a pensive mood even when I'm not particularly in need of one! "I want to travel by night, over steppes and over seas"... reminds me of wanting to go home sometimes - even if I'm not particularly sure where that place is. Home is where the heart is I guess.

Pink Floyd represented a particular feel, as did King Crimson and others from the the same time. It's good to see that the feel is universal and still finds expression today such as in some works of Sakamoto.... I can't help listening to this piece over and over again....And keep coming back to that cycle a few times a year.

What happened here? The butterfly has lost its wings The air’s too thick to breathe And there’s something in the drinking water. The sun comes up The sun comes up and you’re alone Your sense of purpose come undone The traffic tails back to the maze on 101 And the news from the sky Is looking better for today In every single way But not for you World citizen

I use to listen to Deep House songs, and also some Trance. But it doesn't mean i don't appreciate songs like this. I think the problem is the society, and the education that the parents give to their children about "try everything". Listening to many different genres it means you have an open mind (at least that's what it means to me). I hope people will do a step back and will reconsider and discover these peaceful songs and other genres :)

Damn you Sakamoto.. you made my day. I've heard a beautiful chord in Op 35 no. 2, by Chopin and immediately realized I had heard it before. Spent almost all my day trying to find where, when finally I got into Sakamoto and realized it was the final chord of this song. So everyone getting mad like me for that magic F+7 chord , this is the place to look. 🤣 Keep in mind it's more clear in the extended version 6:17 minutes long, this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nITOn3WsiNyWkNE
