What a special song for the first japanese samurai metal band in the world, Ryo comments:
"This is our first ballad, so it's very special for us. This song is about a samurai who was about to die after the war, thinking about his family and praying for peace. A lot of very sad wars are currently happening on the planet too, families are being separated, and so on. I put that feeling into it. Also, I am inviting everybody to enjoy Mr. Mukai's outstanding cello performance. The album also includes a version sung by Matthew in English, so I am curious which version people are gonna like more!"

Am I the only one noticing that the English lyrics are not translations of the Japanese lyrics? The first verse, 星に願いを、今ひとつの願うのなら means something like _If to the stars I had just one wish to make,_ followed by いますぐこの場を立ち去りたい, meaning _(it would be to) escape from this place right now._ The English lyrics are for a separate version of this song and not a translation of the Japanese ones. That being said, this song is moving yet delightful. I will listen to it again!

There are a lot more bands from Japan that are worth your time ! ;) . Legendary band X JAPAN one of the most influential Japanese metal bands ever. Dir en grey are another modern Japanese metal band who have been around since 1997. MUCC are also an excellent band. Dir en grey mixes progressive metal with experimental elements. Their newer albums utilise 7 string guitars. Their earlier albums are quite different and each album has a completely different sound. I am also a massive fan of the GazettE who I highly recommend as well. Unlucky Morpheus are amazing! Galneryus are excellent too. The guitarist Syu and main songwriter is also a classically trained violinist and their song Angel of Salvation is influenced by a Tchaikovsky piece . I could go on all day for sure haha. I love Nemophila and i've heard some amazing songs from Lovebites and Ryujin but will have to check out more. Here are some extra bands which are well known in Japan but maybe not as well known worldwide: Kizu , Amai Bouryoku, Knosis, Maximum the Hormone, Lynch, Mejibray, X JAPAN, Versailles, Rentrer en Soi, Kagerou.. There is a lot more but that's a good start! :)
